Great review - but you guess right, range is poor on these (Reply to this comment)

A wonderful detailed review, but you've guessed correctly -- you get what you pay for with these PC Cards. I've found the range is pretty limited. The ORiNOCO USB or PC Card brand are far more sensitive - and hence less picky about about where you put the Access Point. (For what its worth, see my review of the ORiNOCO USB client here: http://www.epinions.com/content_53268614788 )

Re the affect of the house, I've found in moving from an old wood frame & plaster to a modern wood frame and gyprock house, that the range has gone down a lot with the same equipment. The house is also bigger so its hard to do exact comparisons - but I've noticed the same problem with our cordless phones.

Staying Tuned! (Reply to this comment)

Am staying tuned and will keep watching for updates to this review. I think our house might be a tad bigger and guess we need to go one step up to make this work for us. Do cathedral ceilings have anything to do with reception? How about use of other appliances? Just curious.

Off to drag the slayons! Outstanding review!
