Patron Citronge is simply Mexican "Controy" (Reply to this comment)

Patron Citronge is simply Mexican "Controy".

For years visitors to Mexico and Margarita aficionados knew and loved the Mexican 'knock-off' of Cointreau sold in the familiar square, but green and not brown, bottle and named 'Controy'. It was much cheaper than Cointreau and had a good flavor and made the perfect Margarita. Of course, they'd get sued if they sold it under that name in the USA, so Patron got rights to import the stuff under their name.

Your description: "A shot of Patron Citronge pours crystal clear and smells a bit like a creamsicle with a vanilla-like softness teamed up with plenty of sweet orange." -- sounds yummy. I might have to try this one.
