The Bottom Line I was born to be a mamma!
It's 7 weeks to the day that I gave birth to my son Austin. I have truly cherished every moment so far. Even those times in the wee hours when I thought I was truly going to crash n burn! He is so amazing. He never ceases to make me just beam with pride. I am a changed woman. I knew the moment I held him in my arms 7 weeks ago that he was my heart. When I said those words to my husband he replied rather pouty "I thought I was your heart!" I told him that although Austin was my heart, he owned my heart. There is a big difference. I just celebrated my first Mother's day as a real genuine Mamma. What a great day. From beginning to end it was pure bliss. Holding my baby in my arms and rocking him to sleep. Giving him gentle kisses as he cooed and smiled in his slumber. I realized that was what life was all about. I truly feel wealthy and content in my life. Now, I'm not saying that this is a walk in the park. Motherhood is truly the most difficult and challenging job I've ever had. But without a doubt the most rewarding thing I've ever done. I often find myself just gazing at my son. Sometimes when he's asleep, or just looking around while swinging in his swing or just nestled securely in my arms looking up at me while I feed him, holding a tight grip on my pinky. I just gaze lovingly and dotingly at him. I still can't believe that my husband and I were able to make something so beautiful. I mean my husband is a handsome man and I'm decent looking I suppose. I mean he's barely 2 months old and he's already holding his bottle. He can hold it for almost 5 seconds! The first time he smiled (on his 1 month birthday), I just started crying, happy tears of course. He teaches me so much every day. I am having the time of my life! Thanks for reading.  |
