WORST experience EVER in online purchasing!

The people at Unica appear to be both incompetent and pretty loose with the truth. I ordered a special order item in October of last year, with an estimate from Unica of 12-16 weeks. In February of 2007, got an e-mail saying that they had forgotten to order it. Talked to them and they said they would reorder it. In May they said it was being loaded onto a boat that would arrive in 4 weeks. They said they would provide free express mail when it came in, but then they reneged and said 3-day (which was worse than the 2-day delivery they had originally promised). In mid-July they said that apparently it never got on the boat. Eventually I was told that they didn't order it immediately in February - they waited 2+ weeks more so they could consolidate orders and save themselves money. (A normal company, once they had discovered that they had forgotten to order an item and caused an unnecessary 12+ week delay would at least have the decency to reorder the item immediately!) The customer service people don't know anything and the owner I dealt with didn't return phone messages. I finally got her on the phone by telling the receptionist that I would stay on hold all day, and the owner accidentally picked up. She was short with me, rude, and said she would call me that afternoon. She never did, so I sent an e-mail, which she didn't respond to for 2+ days. I'd be embarrassed to run a business this way, but apparently Unica Home is okay with it. I wish I had looked at Epinions.com before ordering, because apparently my exact experience is common. Overall experience: the worst.
