Blasts from the past - COIN-OPS.

Remember those 80's coin-ops? If you do, this'll be a nice, nostalgic trip down memory lane... (nb - most trips down memory lane tend to be nostalgic...)

Oi, Stewart! Just because I typed it wrong doesn't mean I don't remember how to do it right!! :-P

Actually your comment got me thinking... there was an old C16 (pretty sure it was by Mastertronic) motorbike racing game where we were really impressed that you could actually see the guy's knee nearly touch the ground when you corneered. Can't remember what that one was called though...

(To give you a taster of the C16 BftP: Kickstart, Bandits at Zero, Roboknight, Timeslip, Winter Events, William's Berg Adventure ("That hit the spot!"...)

Simon:

Well, the definitive "speccy" was, I suppose, the 48K model. I personally would think it applies to pretty much every Specturm after the ZX81 (yep, had one of those) - I owned the Spectrum 2 (128K - seemed massive back then - tape model. The 3 had those funny little 3.0" diskettes...)

May I take it you'll be writing a similar piece at some point? :-P

Thanks Caroline!

Glad you enjoyed it, and don't worry about your age! There's always someone older than you...

...and the way your hand lowered to touch the ground when you steered all the way to the left or right. I'd think you'd get nasty abrasion wounds that way!

I'll wait and see how much you remember about C16, considering that you've forgotten how to spell Commodore.... :-)

There's a Double Dragon port out now for the Gameboy Advance. I still like the arcade version better. They have it up at our local campground ... along with Street Fighter II. Both of which cost a cool quarter to play.

... Speccy...

You don't perchance mean the venerable Spectrum (64, 128, whatever). I had a Spectrum 128K and have pined for it ever since I was forced to leave it behind when my family moved to America. I used to sit for hours playing Elite, and Green Beret. Ahh... fond memories.

Cheers!

For reminding me how old I am. I had an Atari... and pong. My birthday this year ends in a zero and that's all I'm saying!

Always a pleasure to read your words Cap!

Interesting note about epinions no. 164 - if you're doing something that's normally frowned upon, state plainly that you're going to do it, and no-one will mind. Strange but true!
