I was genuinely concerned after reading all of the reviews but figured since AMEX has a great policy when it comes to internet orders, I would give it a try.
I placed my order on a Sunday for a hitch for a Jeep Cherokee, a bike rack, and a locking hitch bolt. I didn't see a confirming email so I called first thing Monday morning (on the West coast)and the person I spoke with, Jason, informed me that it had already shipped and that I should have received an email indicating that with a tracking number.
When I got home that afternoon I checked my email and did not find any emails from them. I then realize in my brilliance that I forgot to check the alternate email address that I use for all purchases (to reduce spam) and found all the info just as I was told.
About a week later it all showed up in one box, and it all looked to be in good shape. The hitch was from Curt and had bolts and instructions, the bike rack came protected in a box with instructions and all hardware, and the lock pin came as advertised.
All in all I had a perfect experience with them and would use them again in a heartbeat, perhaps I was one of the lucky ones.
