Heh heh, yep, I'm pretty low on the "self -esteem totum". I never was real high, but, it got even lower over the last 30 years or so. I tell myself I'm a pretty good egg, but I can't make myself believe it. I know what's inside, so I should be proud, but can't. It takes a lot of time to undo what was done in that many years. BUT, I have my pillows. :)

You asked what happened to all the "drive-in's"? Cine-plexes... that's what. The same thing that happens to Mom 'n Pop stores... people want convenience. They want to go to the movies during the day and where they have huge choices. They just have never experienced the wonders that were the American Drive-In. We used to have so much fun. We would go to friends' cars and sit with someone else. We also sometimes got out of the car and went to the playground and sat on the swings. And the Snack Bar was a thing of beauty. Actually, not... but it was a great place to meet and talk to everyone and load up with hot dogs, big cokes, huge popcorns for two for a couple of bucks. Gosh! I feel old.

This shows me you need to work on your self-esteem. If you knew how highly many of us esteem you and "just your opinion," it might raise it a notch or two.

You know the closest drive-in is about three hours away from my home. I am so tempted to make a trip with the kids one time so they can experience this type of memory for themselves. What happened to all of the drive-in's? We would probably have to rent a motel for the evening because that is a long drive. One of these days I will get the gumption to just do that.
