I love a challenge ... (Reply to this comment)
by dlstewart
I've posted my review for this challenge:
http://www.epinions.com/content_141250694788
No where in the review does it mention me. However, my family is prominently displayed!! :)
Thank you for offering this unique opportunity for creative thinking.
Enjoy your day,

Well, when I did get an idea... couldn't stop! (Reply to this comment)

Thanks for the opportunity to try something different.
I like the ripple effect in life though. It's an adventure/challenge. So do I and I like the movies and books about that, like "It's a Wonderful Life", "Terminator", "Frequency"... things that play with your head.

but that's it. Writers are the ones who put the creative words in our world. And you write as well/even better than some here. So what if it takes time, I didn't set a time limit on the write-off.
My husband tells me that I have a unique perspective on things, unlike anyone else he has known. I see things a lot different than others. I suppose that is why I am always getting into trouble. Better put, trouble is always getting into me.
I like the ripple effect in life though. It's an adventure/challenge.
Have a great weekend.
And thanks for clarifying what you were saying earlier.

My intent was not to ridicule. I just couldn't see how to do it. And yep, I'm probably a stick in the mud in comparison to most here. I haven't given up the idea of trying, just having a hard time with my brain lately.

Conflict, discussion, one in the same. I was born to debate!
And about the ep rules, I wasn't just 'speaking' to you. I was clarifying an issue to the general population. No biggie, though.
I do have one last thing to say and it is....
Ernest Vincent Wright
I think if he can do what he did, folks here can handle a simple review written without 'me, myself and/or I', and make it creditable
Thanks for everything...

You see conflict where I see merely a discussion. I wonder why that is?
following Epinions rules on the matter
Nobody said you were breaking any rules. We were merely pondering outloud how this would work... again, it wasn't meant as a slam at all.
I keep coming back because I always put comments on alert when I leave one... and you deserve to be answered.

I have to pass on knocking my self out
;o)
However, how I did feel was that the idea was ridiculed. And I am certain you could have grasped that on your own. WE really don't have to get nitpicky about it. The fact is, it was a challenge. It wasn't a request for everyone at Epinions to permanently write their reviews like that for....e.v.e.r.
*fact, it was a challenge.
*fact, don't want to accept a challenge, back away from it. It's easy, really.
*fact, It was MY perspective on how everything ties around *me, me, I, am*
I thought it would add a little variety to see how someone would write their review without those words. And yes, I was able to add my feelings in a review without using them. Well, I slipped up and used them, but I was able to fix it. And I done so by saying things in a descriptive manner like, wonderful instead of 'terrible', fantastic instead of awful/bad/hideous. And I was even able to describe cleaning, how it worked, extra features; etc, etc, And it was just like any of my other reviews. Except I avoided those little words that everyone seems to be having such a fuss over, me, myself and I!
But, hey, you know what they say, bad publicity is better than No publicity and also that it is better to be looked over than to be OVER looked. And so this one little challenge placed in the insignificant section has kept you coming back to see what I would have to say next. It's obviously spiked an interest in you somehow, somewhere.
And as for following Epinions rules on the matter, Id say that this little write-off cant even compare to the numerous reviews I have seen with profanity in them as well as some nicknames that imply perverted meaning. And, from what I have seen, there have not once been any comments on the type of language used in those reviews.
IN fact, this is exactly what the site usage policy states
When submitting content to Epinions whether in the form of reviews, editorials, comments, ratings or your profile page the following are inappropriate:
.Posting material containing profanity, vulgarity, hate speech or threats of violence
And based off of what I have seen, you have even found reviews that have broken these rules as VERY HELPFUL
Strange how my write-off challenge can cause more conflict than the actual breaking of Epinion rules, huh? And as my husband says, it is rather petty to continue discussing it. If you cant accept the challenge or find no interest in it, then you should leave it at that instead of trying to make me change my mind about hosting something that is outside the box. If you would like to continue with this though, knock yourself out
.
Best wishes,
~Ac

Ummm and I guess some folks take opposing viewpoints as ridicule?
Nobody slammed you here.. just offered perspective. If you wanna take that personal, well, knock yourself right out.

Gosh some of you guys are just a stick in the mud, aren't you? Oh well, I made a couple of uh-oh's but I think mine turned out fine. I just think some are not up to even trying it. I also think alot of us are stuck in a rut and rather ridicule something than actually give it a chance. It was just a challenge. I suppose it was a good thing I didn't have a glove or a pistol on me!

can you write a review that gives personal experiences as epinions requests without using your own.. and without using I , me, etc.
Yep. Personal experience/feelings is pretty much the whole reason for this site... without that, Epinions kinda loses it's point....

It did take some thought but I think I came up with one that was beneficial. I guess we will have to wait and see if anyone is actually up for it or not..
Thanks for the r/r/c

........interesting. I'll have to ponder this one. Sounds tough to write a good review without including myself somewhere. Hard to give my feelings about it without using any of those words.
Hmmmm.....I like a challenge.....Make it a great day......kath
