Chicago's Bullet Race Roller Skate is a nice skate for the money. With a vinyl boot that is comfortable if you don't mind your feet getting warm the skate has Abec 1 bearings and moveable trucks. What is a truck you ask? If you look under the plate to the part that is holding the wheels on, you'll see a plastic or metal part that has a rubber or plastic cushion and a pointed part that goes into a cup like section of the plate called a pivot cup. This is what allows the skate to turn to the right or left. By adjusting this part of the skate, you can set the 'action' to your personal taste and be able to go right or left easily.
The wheels on this skate can be used indoors or outdoors. The bearings are at the bottom of the bearing rating scale. Bearings go from Abec 1 and higher, 1 being the low end. This affects how far you will roll for the amount of push you give. An Abec 7 bearing, for instance will roll further than an Abec 1 bearing theoretically. Add in the weight of a person and many other Einstein like theories and suffice it to say that the higher the rating number, the better the bearing.
The toe stop on this skate is not adjustable. Some people would find this inconvenient and remove the toe stop. Most indoor roller facilities will insist that you have a toe stop so the skate plate will not harm their floor if you happen to fall or go up to the toe of the skate without a toe stop.
For the price of about $39.00, this skate is a fun skate for children to skate outdoors or indoors on a recreational level and be sure to wear protection gear, especially outdoors.
