The Bottom Line: Really the best grease cutting stuff I have found- don't have to use a whole lot either.

| bradshawcl's Full Review: Dawn Direct Foam Dishwashing Detergent |
I had a $1 off coupon for Dawn Direct Foam, and with my coupon, I paid $1.97 for a 13.5 oz. bottle at Wal Mart. I got the Lime Surge scent, which is green, but there are some other scents out there as well as refill sizes. The bottle is supposed to give 250 pumps worth of soap.
The reason I bought this was because even though I have a dishwasher, I still sometimes have to wash some items by hand, or if I have items that are really greasy such as my bacon rack or some baked on grease on something, I will soak it before putting it in the dishwasher, so I still need dish soap around even though I have a dishwasher.
This is a foam dish soap, and it comes in a really cute clear bottle with a white pump on top. To lock the pump, turn it to the left, and to use the pump, turn it so it faces you. Next, the directions say to dampen a sponge and squeeze out the excess water, then pump the foam onto the sponge, and wash the dishes with minimal water, then rinse. Only refill the bottle with Dawn Direct Foam.
This contains no phosphate, the ingredients include biodegradable anionic and nonionic surfactants and solvents. Be sure to keep this out of reach of kids, and do not get it in the eyes ore swallow it.
Experience:
I really enjoyed the lime scent of this soap, it is very stout and if you are into limes, it is for you. It sticks with you the whole time you wash dishes. As far as holding up to the 250 pumps claim, well I havent counted it, but I havent used a whole lot out of my bottle, and I have been using it several weeks now.
I find that I only have to use 2 or 3 pumps of this to clean the dishes. Just those few pumps make a lot of suds! It is really amazing how much soap it can make.
As for cleaning performance, I found it does really well on greasy items. We have to hand wash all our knives, and sometimes they may have grease from sausage or bacon on them, which is kind of hard to get off with other dish soaps without soaking, but this takes it right off and there is no soaking involved.
Also, it does really well on baked on stuff, it takes it off really well as well, it does a better job than the dishwasher to me.
This stuff may seem a little expensive, but you dont have to use a lot to get the job done, so the bottle lasts a long time. Also, if you watch out for a coupon, youll be able to save on it as well.
I am switching to this full time now- it out performs any other stuff I have tried!
