The Bottom Line So thats my top 10 I want to hear your responses on what your favorite guitar players and their best songs are as well.

I decided to list my top 10 favorite guitar players on epinions simply to see if anybody else had the same opinions as me on these guitar players.
-----------------------------------------------------------
The Top 10 (In no particular order)
-----------------------------------------------------------

1. Kirk Hammett - The lead guitar player of Metallica for the first 4 albums all he did was come in and play the guitar solos over the songs, nevertheless his speed shredding solos and odd scale use makes him a unique guitar player worth listening to.
Top Moments
1. Unforgiven - His most emotional solo, a bit slower than the rest shows maturity.
2. Fade to black - A classic song made even better by a guitar solo of speed and emotion.

2. James Hetfield - Rhythm guitar player/ Vocalist of metallica who wrote all of the songs lyrics and music for the first 4 albums with a little help from Lars. His ability to come up with really catchy and heavy rhythms is undeniable and he is the king of makeing the palm mute sound cool.
Top Moments
1. One - His guitar bits in this are sad and depressed and then go into a nice classical bit into a heavily distorted guitar chorus followed by one of the coolest thrash song endings ever by making his guitar sound like a machine gun in unison with Lars drums.
2. Master of Puppets - He wrote the song that pretty much defines thrash metal, this song is really heavy sounding up until the classical bit in the middle and then he cuts a short very melodic pentatonic solo which is followed by a bridge from hell.

3. John Frusciante - His funk guitar is unmatched and his acoustic classical sound is very peaceful and always powerful. The fact that he's in The Red Hot Chili Peppers alone shows his impact on the world of music.
Top Moments
1. Under the bridge - The intro to this song played on a clean electric guitar is amazing, the rest of the song is interesting because he has a funk type rhythm using jazz chords to make it sound kind of depressed.
2. I could have lied - The songs acoustic rhythm guitar is spot on but the overdriven electric guitar solo in the middle of the songs is magnificent.

4. Jimmy Page - The guitar player in Led Zeppelin does anything else really have to be said?
Top Moments
1. Black Dog - The guitar is pure hard rock and gets even better when the 2nd guitar comes in and rocks out a sloppy but cool blues solo.
2. Rock and Roll - This is in a interesting songs he modified 50's rockability with power chords and theres a nice little guitar solo in here as well.

5. Jimi Hendrix - The reason I and many others started playing guitar, he is the most famous guitar player ever.
Top Moments
1. Little Wing - This songs is a great psychedelic love number.
2. Voodoo Child - The intro is very recognizable and the song is simply amazing.

8. Tommy Iommi - The Black Sabbath guitar player and inventor of heavy metal guitar playing.
Top Moments
1. Black Sabbath - A slow and simple song that builds up into a palm muting call to the end of the world with a guitar solo played over an organ at the end that sounds really epic.

9. Slash - In Guns N Roses he played the lead guitar as well as rhythm, kind of a throwback to hard rock with some 80's influences.
Top Moments
1. Sweet Child of Mine - You know the guitar intro and you know the killer solo with the wah pedal used to perfection.
2. November Rain - This song is a bit more slow and has several solos that are slow and warm, but the final solo in the end is one of the best.

10. David Gilmour - He and Roger Waters wrote most of the songs for Pink Floyd before Waters took over, he also does vocals.
Top Moments
