Coverage:
*Extensive Home Calling Area - I don't have to worry about being out of a certain area before placing a call (especially long distance calls).
*Unlike other service providers, there are not additional charges when your phone switches over to analog service because Verizon Wireless owns one of the two analog systems in this area.
*
Price Plan Flexibility:
*At any time during your cycle, you can switch your price plan with no monetary or contractual penalties. I constantly go over my minutes, but I know that I can call in on the last day of my bill cycle and ask customer service to bump my plan up to the next higher one -- the result: the plan backdates and I don't get charged an arm and a leg for overage.
Customer Service and Call Credits:
*I have friends who are with other providers, and I know how long they wait to get some kind of person on the phone at customer service. One of my friends was on hold for 20 minutes (no exaggeration), and when Connie (the CSR) got on the line, the call was dropped!
*I never had to wait on hold for more than 5 minutes at VZW. And when I call, it's because I want some call credits for some calls that got dropped, calls that were a bit noisy, I dialed the wrong number, etc. The great thing about VZW is that you don't have to use your minutes for those types of calls. If you were not satisfied, the customer service representatives have no problem crediting you back those minutes.
*My history of credits:
- My voicemail was acting up on me for a few days, so they credited me 120 minutes for my trouble.
- I dropped my Motorola Timeport (Colored Screen instead of a green backlight) too many times and I was waiting for my free replacement. It happened to be on backorder, so instead of the 3 days it would have taken to arrive, I had to wait for 9. I was credited $50 for the inconvenience of not having my cell phone for that time (even though I forwarded my calls to my home phone).
- For the months of April thru July, I was on a $160 calling plan because I thought that it was the cheapest plan I could go on that would cover all of my peak minutes I use each month -- I was wrong. On top of that, I ended up paying an additional $50-$120 for going over my minutes of 1500 anytime, 1000 night and weekend. I spoke to a customer service rep who informed me of a better calling plan for my needs. He immediately put me on the plan, and backdated my account all the way to April, so I got credited back all that extra money I spent!
