The Bottom Line Unlike many ghost stories, this one is true. It's based on a friend of the family's experience.
It was a cold February night. The moon and stars filled the night sky for not a cloud was in sight. Sara was on her way to a psychic she was told about years before. Since hearing about the psychic she has always wanted to go but could never work up the courage. Something in her had changed; what exactly changed no one really knows, she wasnt sure herself but it was something she had to do. After driving for almost an hour she reached the psychics house. The psychic operated her business from home; not some cheesy store-front where you would find a false prophet. The house was only ten years of age and was part of one of the newer developments in Central Bucks County, Pa. What an odd setting for a psychic. Sara thought to herself. Something just isnt right. After pondering what she was doing, Sara started walking to the front door. As she was just about to ring the bell, the door opened. Come in, I was expecting you, stated a woman in her early fifties. Could this be the psychic? Yes, indeed she was. She wasnt what one expects to see. Linda as she preferred to be called didnt wear the scarves or the loose fitting, flowing clothing that one expects to see a person with such powers to be wearing. There werent five necklaces around her neck; there werent gold rings and bracelets around her fingers and wrist. No, Linda didnt seem like the typical psychic. Linda was quite different. To see her on the streets, let alone her home, you could never tell that she was psychic. She wore a business suit, a wedding band, her engagement ring, and a simple necklace that her husband gave her years ago. Come in out of the cold and have a seat. stated Linda, quietly. After a few minutes of pleasantries it was time to get down to business. Sara handed Linda $75 in cash. What is it you come to seek? I wish to communicate with my parents, responded Sara. I will see what I can do. Just relax and think of them. They will come to me in a few minutes. A few minutes went buy, which seemed like infinity to Sara. Then, something happened. We are now surrounded by two loved ones. Linda said. REALLY? Sara questioned. Yes. They say hello. Being skeptical, as usual, Sara asked, What are their names? Knowing full well she gave no clues to Linda about her past. Nothing about her family and friends were ever mentioned. Benny and Fay. I dont know a Fay or a Benny. Snapped Sara. WELL THEY KNOW YOU. With a sharp flick of the tongue, stated Linda. I dont care. I want my parents. I dont want to chat with them. I am sorry but they want you to deliver a message to your husband. He doesnt know them either. I have no clue who these two are. This went back and forth for a few moments until Linda stated that a third spirit showed up. This spirit was of Lydia. Lydia was a friend of Saras for many years and nine months earlier cancer took her from her from our world. Linda now had Saras attention. Lydia has something to say. Are you going to listen? Yes. Good. Lydia wants you to tell Barry that she is doing well. She also wants you relay the same message to her girls. Lydia wants to also say congratulations to her youngest girl on her pregnancy. Also she wants you to listen to Benny and Fay. Finally tell the girls to stop worrying about her. She is in a better place now, free from the pain of cancer. Sara was taken back. It was only this morning that Lydias youngest announced that she was pregnant again. Could this all be real. How does Linda know about my Barry? How does she know he is my husband? How does she know about Lydias girl being pregnant? What is going on? Was Sara dreaming? It did feel like a dream to her but it also felt very much real. With that thought and all the other confusing thoughts running around Saras mind, she was brought back to reality by Linda. Lydia left but Benny and Fay still have a message for Barry. They want to let him know they are proud of him and his accomplishments. Thank you. Responded Sara as she snapped up her things and left for home. During the car ride home all Sara couldnt stop thinking about what Linda had told her. About Barry, about Lydias girl; she had to get home to talk to Barry. Eventually after driving around for a while Sara got home. Barry was up waiting for her. He knew she was out but he didnt know where. After entering her home and unwinding, Sara started to tell Barry her story. He allowed her to tell him everything before he spoke. Honey, as he always affectionately calls her, You do know of Benny and Fay. They are my grandparents who died long before we ever met. What are you saying? How do I know of them? I never met them. You are right, you didnt ever meet them but you do know of them. Remember they are the ones who raised me after my parents died in the fire when I was young. Sara realized he was right. She had always seen pictures of them. She always believed them to be his parents. She knew the people in the pictures raised him but she never knew their names. It was all stating to make sense to her. She realized that Linda was really seeing and talking the spirits of her family and loved ones; just not the ones she was hoping for. She gave the message to Barry and then retired for the night. |
