The Bottom Line Born in September of 1972, my birthstone is the Sapphire and I am a Libra.
First off, I have to admit I cheated. I can almost hear the gasps now! It's not that bad. I happen to have a disk that I bought for maybe $5 in the cheapo bin at the Navy Exchange called The Day You Were Born from Blast Software. While it didn't give me all of the info needed here, It gave me a good portion of it. Anyway, on to the answers!
1) One invention the year you were born. It can be anything from a food item to a car.
According to some websites I found, Intel introduced it's 200-KHz 8008 chip in 1972. It was the first 8-bit microprocessor.
Also, Atari is founded and shipped the first commercial video game, Pong.
Another tidbit, the first email was send out in 1972 by Ray Tomlinson. According to the page I found, he is also responsible for the using of the "@" sign to seperate the user of the computer and the name of the computer or server.
2) Who was the most famous actor/actress the year you were born?
I guess this one depends on who you ask. Some chose Charles Bronson. Marlon Brando was to receive the 1972 Oscar for Best Actor, which he refused. Richard Thomas won an Emmy for his role in The Waltons. Laurence Olivier, Cloris Leachman, and Liza Minnelli also topped the charts.
3) Most popular vehicle the year you were born?
I honestly couldn't tell. It kinda depends on who you ask, but from my poking around online, the Corvette and Camero topped the charts.
4) Which president was in office and what did he do for our country that was different, either good or bad?
Oh, this is a good one. President Richard Nixon. Ummmmm, I supposed the Watergate Scandal was different. Not a good thing.
5) One hit movie.
The Godfather. Hands down.
6) Something from the top ten category in music.
There were several that I saw listed that I actually know! American Pie by Don McLean jumped out at me first. I am sure almost everyone has heard this one. Also listed, that I knew, was The Candy Man by Sammy Davis, Jr. and A Horse With No Name by America.
7) Any item of your choice to mention from the year you were born.
1972 was the Chinese Year of the Rat. Supposedly that means I am charming, tasteful and I can keep my temper under control. Obviously, I was born in the wrong year.
Some sport info from 1972, the Dallas Cowboys were the NFL champs, Jack Nicklaus won the U.S. Open Golf and Riva Ridge won the Kentucky Derby.
On my birthday in 1972, Hurricane "Agnes" struck the East Coast and caused 117 deaths.
Thanks to Annie_Crane for this fun write off! :)
