My soccer induced entry into Dani's Why Not Another Write-Off W/O You might notice that there is a distinct lack of reviews being submitted by some European members on this site at the moment. Specifically those that are soccer crazy. You see, as Andy said, a HUGE tournament has started in Europe, which has the ability to send even the most sane person into a crazy gibbering lunatic. Take this W/O for example, I started it last Thursday, but I've been somewhat side-tracked by various soccer matches over the weekend. However, I thought I'd get posted before the big match for me tonight. Oooooh!! (1) Age: ^^. (2) Sex: Not right now, dear, there's a match on tonight. (3) Children? Nope, no rugrats. Unless you count a cat with more 'tude than J-Lo (4) Siblings? None of those either. The midwife took one look at me, slapped my mother and sent my father to the seventh layer of hell. (5) If so are you older or younger? N/A (6) Favourite Colour? Blue! Any shade, I wholeheartedly agree with Paul Heaton, Blue is the colour. (7) Do you collect anything? Oh, all kinds of crap. Including soccer shirts! I'm wearing a Sweden one today. Keep in mind I'm currently located in Denmark.. now that's brave. (8) If you could be any animal what would it be and why? Hmmm. i've recently taken more than a passing liking to the Duckbilled Platypus, thanks to some bloke who sat next to me on a plane looking at a picture of one for about an hour. I think most will agree that that animal is the funkiest on the planet. I recall a spoof song of Joan Osbourne's "One Of Us", where it was implied that God must have been on drugs when he thought up that one. (9) Who is your favourite actor? Kevin Spacey! Without question. Sue and I have decided that we're going to ride with him on a motorised scooter around NYC, wearing beanies.. or was it berets? Was that ever resolved? (10) Favourite actress? Oh now that's a tough one, I could go for one of the late, great classics, but I'll go for Alyson Hannigan instead. Because 1. She makes me laugh. 2. I love her hair, and 3. She's married to Alexis Denisof, and I'm jealous. (11) What do you hate more than anything? Being serious? Homophobia. But I suppose being gay it's something I've had to deal with. If you don't like it, tough. (12) If you could be the President for one day what would you do? Well, if I could be Prime Minister of Sweden for a day, I'd outlaw permanent lights on Volvos, since they make me nauseous, I'd outlaw the name "Bent" as a common Swedish Christian name. I'd set up self help groups for compulsive IKEA shoppers, who not only revel in the fact IKEA names all its furniture, but the more ardent shopper tends to give it a surname as well. What the hell? Swedes are weird. (13) Who is your best friend? Anders Målby. A Dane, and the tallest person I've ever met. Plus he's hilarious. Although, the up and coming Sweden v Denmark soccer match will no doubt induce some rivalry between us. If we lose, I'll not hear the end of it for months. (14) Are you passive or aggressive? I guess I'm passive really, I'm pretty laid back, quite shy on the whole. I suppose I have been aggressive, well not so much aggressive, more stroppy, I'm prone to being stroppy when my otherwise lengthy patience is worn thin. (15) What is your dream job? I'd love to be a deep sea marine biologist. I love the sea, and deep sea diving has always appealed to me. although, my fear of natural sponges may get in the way a little bit. Scary, creepy, bejesus worthy things mooching about on the bottom of the ocean when they should be restricted to the bathroom and used for scrubbing yourself down. (16) What is your worst habit? I bite my nails! I'm terrible for it, and despite numerous attempts to give up, via putting icky, vile tasting stuff on them, nothing has ever worked, So any advice would be greatly appreciated. (17) What is your greatest asset? Oh without a doubt my cat, although technically, she owns me. She's absolutely priceless. (18) Would you rather:(a)WALK (b)DRIVE (c)FLY? Drive.. I love to drive. Except on quiet country lanes at night in Sweden, since a volvo always appears in my rear view mirror, with it's too bright lights, I feel like I ought to pull over and wait to be kidnapped and then interrogated for information I want to share, but don't have. (19) If you went camping, you would sleep:(a)IN A TENT (b)UNDER THE STARS (c)IN A HOTEL? Doesn't staying in a hotel kind of negate the whole camping experience? I guess it would be a tent, although, only in summer, if I stayed in a tent in winter in Sweden, my body would be found the next day and no doubt be mistaken for a David shaped ice pop. (20) If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why? The ability to speak Cattish, so that every time my cat tells me to p*ssoff, I'll know. (21) Favourite cartoon character? Snoopy! I love snoopy, the funky beagle who can ice skate. I'd also love to be able to talk like the teacher that sounds like an elastic band on Snoopy. (22) Party: ALL NIGHT LONG OR WHAT'S THAT?? Nah, I don't party. I'm too laid back, too much going on around me and my head tends to explode. I'm all about the mellow. (23) How many reviews have you written? 64 (including this one) (24) How many members trust you? 109, and I love each and every one of you. (25) Who was the first member to trust you? Caroline, but the first member who was already active on epinions to trust me was my Scandinavian sidekick, Søren. (26) Who was the first member you trusted? Søren, we had known each other for a while before I joined. It was down to reading his hilarious pieces that I finally decided to give it a whirl, so you can blame him. (27) Favourite category to write in? Music, which I suppose is quite obvious, although, I love doing movie reviews, too. I'd love to do some more book reviews, but just doing the one scared the crap out of me, and I haven't done any since. Maybe one day. (28) What is the best review you have written? Well, I wouldn't say it's my best, but it was certainly the most fun I had writing, was the one I did of a Hanson CD (29) What is the worst review you have written? Oh God, without a doubt, the review of a Smudge album, bloody awful review. (30) If you could be one member, who would it be and why? Noooooo! I can't pick just one (31) If you could change one thing about WOT?? The fact that occasionally people seem to disappear and reappear occasionally. That's just plain spooky. (32) If you could change one thing about Rating? As with most people, probably hidden ratings. (33) If you could change one thing about Writing? I wouldn't change anything about writing, although, for some reason, coming up with a decent bottom line takes me longer than writing an actual review sometimes. What is it with that? It's simple enough to answer, yet for some inexplicable reason it's almost impossible to qualify an entire review in a few words. (34) If you could change your member name, what would you change it to and why?? pimpin_chortleworthy, because it sounds funny, and dpjohansen is so bloody boring. *****DRUM ROLL***** I know this one is going to be hard for most of you, but we are all grown here, answer honestly...and just ONE!! (35) Who is your mentor here at Epinions? See, I didn't find this one difficult to answer, it has to be Sue. She was the first member to welcome me here, and she has been a constant source of inspiration and encouragement ever since. Plus, she has the ability to make me laugh like Rasputin being tickled by a downy piece of fluff. (I'm cheating here) A few others that have also been a constant source of inspiration and /or encouragement from the start are; Brian, Doc, Dave, Stephen, Andy, Chris, and Simon. Plus many others. And there you have it. Ok, I really need to grab some nibbles, some carlsberg and get ready for the Sweden v Bulgaria match, Freddie's playing, yay!
