Cons: Disapointing 3Dmark2001 score, no free PCI slots!AH!
The Bottom Line: Get it if you can get a good price. Be sure to HAGGLE with the sales people, they will go a lot lower than retail and give you free shipping!

I actuallly have a gateway select 1400, it is the exact same as the 1200 but it's 1400mhz instead of 1200mhz.
These are the specs:

I would like to start out by saying that I got all of this for $1430!!!! This exact system retails from them for $2,100. I will tell you how I did it at the end of this.
This is a great computer. I don't know how i lived without a geforce 3 before. The graphics are the best money can buy. My Diamondtron monitor is also awsome. The picture is very very very sharp. I also don't think that I will ever be able to fill up my huge 60gb hard drive. I have installed all of my apps and I have only filled up 12gb, and trust me I have a ton of applications. The 256 mb of ram seems suficient for me. It should be more than enough for an average user. The speakers were the cheapest that they sold with the system. I thought they would sound terrible but they sound excelent.
Now my main purpose of this computer was and still is GAMING. Let me just tell you that this computer is a "BEAST!!!" If you are familiar I can play max payne with all the settings maxed out and it stilll runs at a minumum of 18fps which is pretty smooth. I can also do the same with quake 3 but the frame rate is much higher. The only thing that disapointed me was that it only got a 3dmark 2001 score of 5140. I was expecting something around 5,800-6,000 But i am still happy with a 5,140.
The CONS:
NO FREE PCI SLOTS. BEWARE IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON EXPANDING IMMEDIATELY. IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON ADDDING ANY PCI CARDS YOU WILL NEED TO TAKE OUT THE INDLUDED ETHERNET CARD, SOUND CARD OR MODEM.
That's about it.
Now for the good stuff, how to get it at the price I did:
Gateway is offering to beat any competitors price. So what you do is find a best buy add. These computers will be a lot less becuase they only have a 1 year warranty but the gateway will give you a 3 year for the same price. The add that I used isn't in existence any more but if you can find an add with a good deal just call gateway and see what they can do for you.
