I have been using this site for over two years. I think the reason I was first attracted and one of the reasons I am staying with it is that I love to get free things.
Startsampling does deliver what they promise FREE SAMPLES. I have received about 60 different samples. In my mailbox from Startsampling I have requested Jergens Skin Cooling Moisturizer, Tresemme Hydrology, Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate, Electrosol Tabs, Twinnings Tea Blenders, Slim Jim Snacks, Curad Tattoo U Bandages, Ziploc Sandwich Bags, Snyders Nibblers Pretzels, just to name a few.
It is very easy to join this site. You must be a U.S. resident and are limited to only one member per household and one member per shipping address. You will be asked some simple questions such as name, address, date of birth, whether or not you have pets or children. You then chose your member ID and your password. I like that there is the option of a hint to help you remember your password which will be mailed to you if you can't remember your password.
Besides the free samples the thing I like about this site is that it takes about a minute today to check in, get your points, look to see if there are any new samples or surveys. The bad side is that at times like now there are only one set of prizes available. When the good prizes like the DVD player are available there are only a few and they are snatched up quickly.
The redemption process for prizes was simple the two times I have used it. My prizes came just as requested. They were quick and in good condition.
In addition to the free samples you receive points for visiting the site daily(10 miles per day and an additional 15 miles for every 10th visit per calendar month), referring friends to the site(you receive 75 for the first three people you refer, and can refer up to ten people), providing feedback about the samples that we have received from Startsampling.com. Occasionally, there are surveys on the site that you will be awarded miles for completing(10 miles). A favorite way of mine to earn points is to visit the sites of the manufacturer's sites that offer samples for the members(15 points per web site). I haven't earned points this way but you can also get points for sending in receipts and proof of purchases from samples available on the site. You get 20 points for your first purchase and 5 miles for each additional purchase up to 40 miles per product. This seems like too much trouble for me.
At several levels of point accumulation you can redeem your points for prizes. Right now for 1500 miles you can redeem your points for either a Pokemon Storybook Collection or a Muppet Babies' Storybook Collection from Golden Books. At the 2500 point level you can redeem your points for a Startsampling Sweatshirt(free publicity for the company). If you have accumulated 4,000 points you can redeem for a Publishing Mills Audio Book. The next level is 7,500 and you can redeem for a 75 dollar GiftCertificate.com purchase. Last but not least at the 10,000 you can redeem for a DVD player.
In addition to samples and surveys there are fun contests in which you can participate. The winners are awarded points. I have not won anything yet but I do enjoy the contests in which they scramble the letters of a product and guess the name.
Since this site requires little time, does not make you search to earn the points like other do, and does send the requested prizes. I would recommend it to family and friends.
