2000 was another year that let down the viewers of movies in theaters, and we were only treated to a few gems along the way

I just wanted to point out that in the Patriot, Mel Gibson's character had 7 children, not 8.

This is a great list and I've seen most of the movies you put in this review and agree with your choices!

I like your creativity on your list... (Reply to this comment)

but I sure hated Castaway. I watched it and then thought "Why in the hell did I just waste all of that time?"
But you are a brave one for stating your choices!

An alternate 10 best list? (Reply to this comment)

Patriot? Contender? etc.

Half the films on the list are misfires.

Despite some typos an entertaining read but I sure am not on the same wavelength with you on what makes a good film. Few of these make my top ten list. Few come close.

Sorry... some movies just don't do it for certain audience members, and Traffic just never served it up for me. After 3 years, it still hasn't grown on me, so I think that either it wasn't that great of a film after all, or it is just too far above me ;)

Not a bad list, even though I'd only have four of yours on my list. And no Traffic?!

one correction...

It's "Jim Carrey" not "Jim Carry."

Otherwise nice job.

By restricting yourself to a single year, I bet it's tough to find 10 worth mentioning. I thought The Contender, despite its good performances from Oldman et al, bit the bag for its political slant not to mention its cop out when it showed the candidate was squeaky clean after making a big to do about it’s nobody's bidness. Shoulda left it to the imagination and would have been more profound. Good job!
