The Bottom Line: Same chip as the Sound Blaster Platinum, just not all the unnecessary features...

First I'll give you an idea of what i'm running:
Soyo 5EMA+ motherboard
K6-2 500mhz
384mb RAM
2 Western Digital 7200 PC133 20gig drives
ACER DVD-ROM
ACER CDR-RW 8x4x32
Radeon VE 32mb AGP video card
SoundBlaster Live Mp3 audio card
Windows ME (paging file set to 768mb - double RAM)
I currently have my audio out, hooked up to my sony home theater system... i watch dvd's and play games... let's just say, the room rumbles!!!! this card was a sinch to install... i have yet to install the mp3 software... but most of my mp3 software i've already bought, so i doubt the added bundle will help me out much!
right now i'm using the standard miniplug to rca adapter (found at radio shack) so i can use it w/my home theater system... the card also features optical out, which will make my home theater come alive (takes advantage of dolby 5.1 surround)...
my suggestion, go to compusa (or where ever you buy your computer products) and look on the box... they'll show you what each of the SoundBlaster cards come with... using that helped me decide that the MP3 Card was right for me!
