Pros:NONE.
Cons:No help to anyone at all.
The Bottom Line: If you don't think giving Cingular your paycheck every month is enough, call the service center and pay mentally when you deal with the provider. They should be politicians!!!

Cingular is a good plan, as long as you don't have any problems and you don't need to change anything. If you never need to contact the service center and all you do is pay the Cingular bill, you won't have any problems at all.
But God help you if you need anything at all.
I implore you, call the customer service center at your own risk, and have plenty to do while you wait, and believe me, you will wait. Just take a look at my story.

I was persuaded to get a cellular phone by my parents who were convinced that I needed one..."just in case." Who knows what could happen and when you might need one?

So I finally went to get a cellular phone and I picked the plan that my father had, since he had no problems with it. However, being a teenager, I didn't have a credit card and apparently you can't do anything without a credit card. So the phone was put under my mother's name, with her credit card. So every month we had the hassle of her sending a check to Cingular and me giving her a check for the amount of the bill. Well, I finally had enough of it. It was just a pain in the butt. I called the customer service center, and waited, and waited for about 30 minutes. Had I known, I would have brought some reading materials!!!!!

All I wanted was to switch the service from my mother's name, to mine. How hard could that possibly be? And now I had the all-important credit card. When I finally got a real-live person on the phone (amazing they still have those) I told them the situation. They sent me a change of responsibility form, which we both had to sign and I had to make a copy of my license. So, I thought it was all taken care of....But I was very, very wrong. Of course things can't be that easy. Not for me. After using six stamps just for that one envelope (it was quite thick and sent back once because I forgot to include my license) then it was sent back again with an important notice. This is the really important part!!!!
After all that trouble, I would need to send a $800.00 security deposit!!!!!!!!!! Just to switch a name!?!?!?!?
That's unbelievable, that could be a few months rent money for God's sake!!!! Who, in their right name, would send that much money for such a simple little change???
Sounds like a scam to me.

So good luck to everyone out there that needs some service....I would look somewhere else, because you won't find any at Cingular!
