I am updating this review so that you have a complete picture of my buying experience - please read the ENTIRE review before you form an impression of this seller.
I originally posted a bad review for Buydig/Beach. Why, well I was seriously POed because I felt taken advantage of with what seemed at the time the usual "not in stock" ploy used by so many on-line small time camera sellers. Here's my story. I ordered a scanner from them and, because I absolutely could not wait for a long delivery, I personally called to confirm that it was in stock. After checking their inventory I was told it was indeed and based on that assurance I placed the order and received a confirming email. Then, after a few days of waiting I was notified that the item wouldn't be in stock till fully eight business days and two weekends after placing the order. Was I angry? You betcha. I cancelled the order and ripped them a new one by posting a blistering review, the review you are reading right now. But hold on, that's not the end of the story.
Within 24 hours I received an email apologizing for their poor performance, they understood perfectly why I was so upset and wanted to see what they could do to make it right. Yeah, I thought, OK - find out if Epson can drop ship the item or promise me you'll overnight this as soon as you have it in stock figuring they'd just offer me a five buck discount or something stupid like that. You know what - the customer service folks at Buydig/Beach bent over backwards on my behalf. The contacted Epson, tracked the item down and contacted me several times during the day to give me the latest information. It gets better.
Today, I received a call from their customer service manager who read my original critical review and he called me to let me know how upset he was that they let me down. Again, he explained what went wrong and took absolute responsibility for their poor performance but then did something I didn't expect - he put his department into crisis mode to get me that scanner by my deadline. The folks at Buydig went to bat for me, and within a few hours confirmed that a unit was on its way overnight.
Some sellers talk about "taking responsibility" and then do nothing. Some sellers don't even care whether you take your business elsewhere. And then their is "old school" customer service by people who care, and that is what Buydig is all about. Right now I'm sitting here with a tracking number waiting for the unit to roll in instead of trying to start the whole buying process all over again with someone else. Buydig has earned my respect because they made it right - and they should earn your business because we should award sellers that still understand the importance of customer service. Thanks for reading this review.
