I just returned from a pleasant four day stay at the Wyndham Palace in Downtown Disney. When we arrived at 5 pm, our baggage was promptly removed from the trunk and a valet took care of parking our rental car ($10./day charge for valet parking).
We waited only four or five minutes before we were waited on at the check-in desk. The process was very swift and we were given keys to our fourteenth floor room promptly. A bellhop showed us to our room which was very nicely appointed. The room showed very little signs of wear and featured Body and Bath Works toiletries (3 small bottles - shampoo, conditioner, lotion). It also included a very small balcony (triangular shaped). We had a view of Downtown Disney and the Disney Institute. If you stood out on the balcony you could see the Epcot "golf ball."
The Wyndham Palace features bus service to all four Disney theme parks, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. We did not take advantage of the buses since we had a car. Additionally, Downtown Disney is within reasonable walking distance of this property.
After donning our swimsuits, we headed out to "Recreation Island." This is a swimming pool with water fall, quiet pool (felt like it was heated) and hot tub. Clean, folded towels were readily available for guests. The pool area was immaculate and there were no lifeguards on duty (it was evening, I don't know if they have them during the day).
Each day when we returned from the theme parks, our room had been properly cleaned and adequate towels had been supplied.
We utilized the Watercress Cafe and Pastry Shop each morning for breakfast. This is an overpriced cafe (Donuts $1.25 each). We found the price of cocktails at the bar to be in-line.
We were charged an $8.88/day resort fee which was supposed to include a newspaper each day. I only received a paper outside my door the first day.
