Pros: More fish caught.
Cons: Takes some getting used to.
The Bottom Line: Excellent for ALL ages to use. Young people get into fishing quicker because of less fish missed and 'Older Folks' (?) just find them easier to use.

| browndray's Full Review: Eagle Claw Circle Fish Hooks |
I don't usually write about fishing products. However, since I am 'getting on in age' there is now a need to write about anything that can help with the associated problems. Age and all of the medical problems that go with it (at times) can put a crimp in many of your hobbies, so one looks for anything that makes life easier.
"Eagle Claw Circle Fish Hooks" are a big help. My reaction times have slowed down to the speed of molasses in December and this resulted in many a missed fish when trying to 'Set the Hook'. I was getting frustrated with fishing, about to give up on one of my hobbies that I loved. When another 'Senior Citizen (?)' at a local pond gave me a packet of the "Eagle Claw Circle Hooks". About all he said was, "Just try them out and don't set the hook", as he reeled in another fish.
I tried them out and now 'Circle Hooks ' are all that I use. Tie one on, cast out and wait for your pole to twitch, and reel in the fish. This is VERY IMPORTANT.... *** DO NOT SET THE HOOK with ANY SHARP PULL ***. Just reel in your line.
Not 'setting the hook' was something that took some time to get used to but since my reaction times had not improved, all it took was to remind myself to not do so when I picked up my pole. If you do try to 'Set the Line with a Sharp Pull' you will pull the hook right out of the fishes mouth.
My wife and I have even at times not even noticed the line or pole twitch and after talking for a bit, decided to go take a walk or something, started to reel in the line and had a fish on the hook. surprise, surprise!!
I, in turn have passed along several packets of "Eagle Claw Circle Fish Hooks" to other frustrated fishermen/women and kids since then. I have not heard any complaints. I feel that these hooks are GREAT for kids too because we all know that young ones often do not have the attention span required to sit and fish. With these hooks you can call them back to their pole and let them reel in the fish and then, each time, they sit a little longer in one spot. Now, Grandpa/Grandma can sit with the grand kids and actually get some fishing done.
