Stauer.com: An overall good experience and a beautiful gift

I first became aware of Stauer when a family member ordered a watch from them. I got a hold of one of their catalogs and liked what I saw. We had an anniversary coming up and I thought it might be a good way to hint about what kind of bauble I liked. Not usually buying a lot of jewelry, this was the one time I was tempted by one ring in particular that really got my attention. My co-worker has a very nice diamond wedding ring that I’d admired and when I saw a ring very much like hers in the (paper version of the) Stauer catalog, I decided it was hint-worthy as an anniversary gift.
Navigating around the Stauer.com, website was really easy. The first thing I did was to create an account with a password and mailing information. That took just a few minutes to accomplish.
We placed the order for the ring on July 10th and waited. I waited each day, patiently at first, for the mail to arrive. Finally after about two weeks of waiting, I decided to check on my order’s online status. I typed in my specific order number, but the message that came back said my order was "On the line"....or something like that. I then had to call to find out status because that online statement regarding the status of my order didn't really answer my question or make sense to me. The operator rep I got through to (fairly quickly) at Stauer, apologized, and said that my ring was back ordered and would take a month from the day I called to receive it. (Not a month from the day it had been ordered, but from the day I had called!) I was disappointed and even started to experience buyer's remorse, because I had already waited a full two weeks (and our anniversary had passed too.) The Stauer representative explained to me that I could cancel my order at any time should I decide to do so.
My call to Stauer.com took place on July 24th and I was now prepared to have to wait until August 24th for my new ring. Imagine how extremely pleasantly surprised I was when I received my new (anniversary) ring less than one week later on July 29th! The ring is beautiful and sparkles with brilliance. It looks just as good, if not better, than the picture online and in the catalog. I cannot see any difference in the clarity or color of the "diamonds" in this ring when compared to the gemstones in a real diamond. It also cost a fraction of what a "real" diamond ring would have cost.
Although my new ring is not made from authentic diamonds, it is a part of the growing number of gemstones that are manufactured diamonds, something like a 'Cubic Zirconia'. Obviously an authentic diamond is preferable if you have the money, but if you're on a budget as our family is, this is definitely an acceptable and beautiful alternative. I showed it to my co-worker, who agreed that my new Stauer ring looks quite a bit like her authentic diamond wedding ring does.
Stauer.com is a part of Nextten.com. I was primarily interested in Stauer.com because that is where the watch my family member had ordered from. If you decide to check it out, they have a wide variety of authentic and imitation gemstones. Their collection includes, precious, semi-precious and lab created gemstones. Stauer.com also offers watches, handbags, electronics, travel items, eyewear, and collectibles. I have found their prices on "DiamondAura" manufactured gemstones to be quite reasonable.
The Stauer.com website even has a page that instructs you on how to take care of your gold and silver jewelry. It also warns about wearing gold into a pool with chlorine. I have seen people wearing gold necklaces into swimming pools, for example, and wondered if chlorine does anything to harm the gold (apparently it does).
I am very happy with my new anniversary ring for it's beauty and the quality of the product. I was also happy with Stauer's website and customer service. Stauer offers a 30 day money-back guarantee on its products.
(Shipping price was about $15.00 which I thought was a tad high until I realized they carefully pack and probably insure it before sending.)
