Perfect Anime List (Reply to this comment)
by horaz
I've been searching for a good anime movie, but i've only found people which mentioned bullsh!t animes like dbz, ninja scrool, naruto or anything else. People who have no idea of good Animes.
I would like you to say that this is the best anime list I've ever seen. All movies are perfect and I'm very grateful to you that you've created this list.

Thank you Jeremy. You really have an idea of good animes :-D

PS: Sorry for my bad english :-)

Well i can see when it comes to Anime - you seem to focus more on the films instead of Actual Anime Series - where you follow episode by episode is interesting.

My Biggest concern is how could you have forgotten "Spirited Away" i mean that anime film is absolutely brilliant - Won numerous awards & even won an oscar. I think you need to update your list (if you can't) then make a new one.

I don't agree with your list for top 10 best anime movies at all but then again its my opinion against yours.

would've thought Ninja Scroll would've made it (probably haven't seen it)

Street Fighter is another good film.

But Damn you totally missed out Spirited Away. Don't even know what to say.

I think alot of people forget that the site is called epinions and expressing your opinion should be appreciated instead of giving you alot of abuse!

I'm certainly not an anime virgin and I think in your top 50 you made some very interesting choices. I tend to hang on the action and romantic types not really a mecha fan but Escaflowne really clinched that for me!

I would recommend watching Wolf's Rain if you haven't as I found that to be one of those unusual but brilliant anime's. The character designs are stunning and certainly catch you on the first few episodes. I warn you though once it was finished I almost cried, hehe, there is only one season and I felt that it could have been a better ending.

Anyways thanks for writing that long entry you have really given me something new to look forward to watching. :D

i signed up this whole account just to tell you what i thought, but it seems Velacroix took the words outta my mouth... naruto first? no, god no, i like how in this and two other lists of yours you say you hate mainstream (why? just because its mainstream does not necessarily mean its bad) then go ahead and list yu-gi-oh, sailor moon and also say you watch pokemon.

i think velacroix was right, you do sound like a 12 year old. death note & full metal alchemist deserve a space somewhere. Hell, the teletubbies is better than frickin' pokemon

i dont know why sailor moon was so high on you list. why was yugioh on your list at all?

i would have added Death Note to your list and probably Code Geass. they are two great series full of plot twists

Nice Top (Reply to this comment)
by rounin_nana
i go without saying that your top surprised me in a very good way.I was sick of seeing how everyone's favourite show is Naruto, or Bleach, or some other very popular series.I'm a bit like you, I didn't like anime much till one friend got me hooked on chobits. After that I started watching Inuyasha and Slayers on tv(you should definitelly watch Slayers^^).I don't know how many anime you have seen up till now, but I warmly recommend Neon Genesis Evangelion, if you like the more complex anime, that goes deep within the consciousness of the characters.(It's a bit hard to understand at first, I has to watch it twice). You can also watch Spirited away and Howl's moving castle(ghibli studios). And if u like a bit of ecchi try chobits(lmao).Hope you'll find my propositions interesting.

SCHOOL RUMBLE! (Reply to this comment)
by billyd282
I've seen quite a few anime, not nearly every one on your list, but quite a bit of them. There is one anime that I absolutely love that I did not see on your list and thought maybe you haven't seen it. It's called School Rumble. There's two seasons, 26 episodes each. It's a romantic comedy about some kids in school and their crazy love triangles (more like hexagons) and all the outrageous things that happen. It's one of those comedies that makes your jaw drop from disbelief at what just happened. It leaves you going, "omg omg I can't believe he just did that!" Ha. But it's a definite must see if you haven't already seen it. It's definitely one of my favorites.

Decent top 50 (Reply to this comment)
by kinami
Of course, I would include some other animes, but, still, it is Ur top. However, I agree with Naruto to be No.1. I also like Bleach
Those guys who are fans of Bebop, FMA, and everything else, just shut up, PLEASE!
I like them too, except for Cowboy Bebop - absolutely stupid anime. Cowboy in a space??? What a bulshyt!
If you don't agree with Naruto, just type in Google "Naruto", then type "Cowboy Bebop"!
How many results will you get??? STFU ASHOULZ!

naruto is a great show, but does not belong on #1

a few weeks ago i finished full metal, and it became my favorite show ever. i was sad that it was over.

and what about one piece?

try full metal and then change what you think

I began to agree with many of the reviews from #50 to #20, but then I noticed you put Fruits Basket, DragonBall, Rave Master, Prince of Tennis, and Naruto as some of your top anime selections!? Holy @#%$, and then I also noticed you left out so many good anime programs, that you must be-without a doubt an uninformed, amateur reviewer. Based on your opinions on many of the anime listed, I'd say you were fairly young. And when I say, "fairly young" I mean 12. Screw this, I'm not even about to finish this comment properly, you simply don't deserve it.

First things first. Naruto isnt the greatest anime series ever, lol. I watched Busou renkin and enjoyed it more then naruto. Ive started watching alot of anime recently and my favourite which topples majority of those on that list Is ergo proxy.

It's alittle bit more grown up. plus it adds just enough spice and questionable endings to keep you watching.

Neon Genesis was perhaps the biggest dissappointment for me. A series that started with such promise, and ended like a laxitive eating contest with no bathroom. Believe what you want the ending was a complete waste of my time and yours dont even bother watching it. I could dream better endings up.

I'm very picky with anime's, it takes a lot to impress me. I'm not into your DBZ's and kiddy stuff. If anyone wants to suggest to me (or debate) a good anime don't be afraid step up to the plate and let someone with good judgement tell you if it's good or not.

I agree... (Reply to this comment)
by kitzorz
with a lot of people... especially about full metal alchemist, although, I like the manga much better. And also Wolf's Rain, I really loved Wolf's Rain. Anyway, I don't know about anyone here since no noe mentioned it, but I really liked Martian Successor Nadesico (I just finished watching the series) I liked it much more than Full Metal Panic because it was much funnier, especially about the Gekigangar bits. Even though it's a little old, it is now one of my favourites! Since no one mentioned it, I guess no one feels the same way!

an interesting list (Reply to this comment)
by alysa78
since im new to anime and havent seen as much as u did, i will keep it short.
thank you for taking the time to make this list, i will sure watch some of the anime series listed here.

however, from what i have seen so far, i just have to cry and smash pillows at the wall when i see fushigi yugi listed near the bottom.

fushigi yugi is one of the BEST romantic comedies of all time. its a classic!! the passion between miaka and tamahome, their love that transcends time and space, the power of friendship and some very dramatic scenes can make the anime reach the top 10, in my opinion.

Where's witch hunter robin? (Reply to this comment)
by venybeny
How could you miss Witch Hunter Robin? The style and personality of that show is so different from other anime that it should at least get a mention if you're going to represent all of the facets of the genre. Yes, many ppl will argue with me that its "dull" (as one has called it on this very forum), but that's not true. The action scenes are some of the goriest and fast paced I've ever seen.
What most ppl don't get about it is that when the characters interact, what is not being said is more important than the dialogue. This is definitely one of the more philosophical and profound anime out there. Should have been on the list, that's all I'm saying.

ALMOST good list (Reply to this comment)
by heavenkittykat
I agree quite a bit to your list. Except to the fact that some of my favorites are on the bottom of your list and the "not so good ones" are on your top list. Like what the others said, I just can't believe you placed "NARUTO" on the top of your list.

2 you missed (Reply to this comment)
by missshinigami
i must say thats a fine list lol 2 i was shocked not to see on there were wolfs rain and elfen lied both brilliant anime wolfs rain even made me cry lol it is a hard hitting story of friendship the basic story sounds rather dull a group of wolves and humans band together and forget their differences to save the world, but its not the story line that matters but the story itself and how it unfolds:)

elfen lied on the other hand is somewhat on the violent side again it is a story of friendship a girl called nyu (atleast thats what they call her as its all she seems to say) is burden with having horns as the story unfolds you will discover that nyu isnt who or what she seems she is a diclonius feared and with good right a diclonius has invisible hands and by the age of 3 has most likely killed thier own parents! but as the story goes on you will learn she has a kind and broken heart. well worth a watch at any level of anime addiction as is wolfs rain:) x

Curse of Sailor Moon (Reply to this comment)
by captainjaws
I'm afraid Naruto is just another Sailor Moon cursed anime, in a matter of this : Rasengan....rasengan....rasengan....rasengan.....and he needs a new move.

Sailor Moon: Tiara....tiara....tiara...tiara...it gets old.

and the flashbacks
and the episodes that are near mirror images of previous episodes
and the almost horrible english voices and translations

yeah, i don't have to say anything more on Naruto, but i agree that you apparently have never really watched full metal alchemist, or berserk, or X.

IS THIS GUY F***ING KIDDING (Reply to this comment)
by joee4343
GO F***ING KILL YOURSELF...THIS LIST IS THE MOST BULLSHYT LIST I HAVE EVER SEEN...What are you like 10 years old.....you have all the good animes at the end of the list and the ones that shouldnt even be on the list at the top...what the hell are you thinking putting Naruto and Sailor Moon at the top of yer list...those spots are reserved for Princess Mononoke, Cowboy Bebop, Perfect Blue, and other clasic great animes, you obviously have no taste for good anime and really should never be allowed to talk of them again, just the fact that you have Yu-Gi-Oh in the top 50 ever makes you a complete moron, not to mention the fact that Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind was a horrible movie and does anime no justice. I think you should do us all a favor and never speak of anime again. Oh..Another thing...Golden Boy is practically a Hentai, how the hell can you include that crap in your top 50, let alone yer top 10! Basically, your anime watching privlidges should be revoked, so do us all a favor, and never speak of anime again, you are just a descrase to it.
