Re: Very FUnny (Reply to this comment)

Thank you, but it's really only funny to me when looking back at the experience. Putting up with the Marriott's service was not funny at all, especially since we were there for a work event and had to worry about our own irate clients. We looked bad because of things the Marriott did.

Appalling! (Reply to this comment)

I'd say for the security and privacy you received, you might just as well have stayed in the parking lot!
I tend to write reviews of products, services and experiences that are positive but the negative reviews can be equally informative and helpful and yours is a great example of that.
Hats off!

Like the Hotel from Hell. It's too bad that business and unsuspecting travelers are subject to that kind of service. If you complained to the manager, I wonder what the young couple had to say when they emerged. Fun and informative review.

Just wanted to drop by one last time and thank you for your friendship since way back in 1999 when this Epinions rollercoaster got started...
I VERY much appreciate your friendship, and all the kind comments over the years on my reviews here at the site.
I've enjoyed your postings immensely and realize you are one of the stalwarts here throughout this long and crazy rollercoaster....and the reason I've come back to your page again and again and again is simple:
You write - and review - like a professional. And that's the best compliment I could every pay anyone here.
Whatever the future holds for you - I wish you good things....!

Sounds Awful............. (Reply to this comment)

As a hotel manager, I realize that mistakes can and do happen sometimes. It sounds as though the management here was not moved by your plight. THAT is unforgivable. You really ought to send a copy of this to Marriott. Good review! Tom Barnes

Dear minstrelette: This was some epic, made more interesting by the information that you do work for a stamp company. I am an old stamp collector, but I have lost interest in recent years. The same problems that appears to plague the Hunt Valley Marriott has crippled what was once perhaps the most popular hobby in the United States: greed, cynicism, indifference, and incompetence.
From what I can gather from your work, you are not a source of those problems.
Regards.

Selective Lack of Detail (Reply to this comment)
by Yarborough
Well of course, you have and excellent review here with everything that anyone would need to know about this hotel and why to avoid it.
BUT certainly you could have added much more detail to what was REALLY going on in that Honeymoon room that you had the key for. I'm sure many others feel the same way, but just didn't want to mention it.
Just a suggestion for the future. :)

Glad I don't travel to Maryland often. But when I do, I won't venture near this place!
Thanks for the tip! Great review!

Re: Yeah,+but+was+there+free+breakfast? (Reply to this comment)
by Minstrelette
Not only was there no free breakfast, the only thing available on the weekend was a $10 hot & cold buffet (I wasn't paying $10 for a meal I only had about 5 minutes to eat).
The company I was working for definitely talked to the manager of the hotel (they couldn't get in touch with the owner) and they did not care or offer any compensation. I'm still certain a lawsuit could be an option- this company lost business because of problems caused by the hotel.

Good lord, I thought I had some bad hotel stories to tell but this is unbelievable.
Your company should send a copy of this review (with the friendly bartender's name crossed out) to the hotel owner and Marriott. I have to believe they would do something to compensate you and your firm for the misery.
Oh, who am I kidding. They'd probably send you a smeared form letter with a signed portrait of the happily married couple attached.
For what it's worth, I've found Marriott to be adequate (sometimes better, sometimes worse) over the years, although I've never been to a convention at their facilities.
