All Killer No Thriller
I am tired of seeing programs out there that give you a false sense of security. This program and many others give you the illusion that you are actually being protected from malicious users who can gain access to your computer and it's files. I tested the integrity of this program, as I have done with many before. And here is what I have discovered about this program.
First of I must repeat myself, this program gives you a false sense of security. I installed this program on one of my computers on my local networks to test the integrity of the program. I then installed several popular trojans on the operating system to test how it would perform with these trojans installed. The program was completely oblivious to the trojans and the firewall. This is terrible when it comes to the real world, to believe that over 500,000 computers are knowingly using this software that has only the slightest chances against protecting users from today's "Violent Internet." How was this possible I pondered for quite some time. I later read that the trojan horse I installed on the system uses fyn/syn packets to communicate between computers. Therefor the firewall has no control over these "secret" packets. Next I tested out this program on my beta copy of Micosoft Windows XP, this time it not only produced the same results but after one day of running the program, it locked all internet communications. I was quite confused for some time until I found out that Zone Alarm had been causing these problems. I also found that the logs on Zone Alarm only went up to 500, then suddenly stopped until it was reset. This was quite annoying because when you run P2P programs the warnings are often flooded and exceed the value of 500 in a matters of minutes.
I urge you not to purchase this software if you are either a home or corporate user. It gives you a false sense of security and can compromise your computer's security. The only true protection you can gain is to either unplug your computer from the internet, or purchase a hardware based-firewall. I have yet to provide information on these hard-ware based firewall products.
Take my advice seriously and try to advoid the use of this program while transmitting private information such as passwords, credit card and or social security numbers.
