I agree. It only allows out what you allow it to. I have trouble sometimes with it being too effective and blocking my own isp!

....what were these "Trojans" that you "installed" and ZA was unable to stop?

Through my experience, ZA has performed quite well in preventing all undesired incoming and outgoing traffic.

Since you mention XP, it appears that ZA does not support XP very well. SyGate has a firewall designed for this OS, which by the way is free.

is certainly helpful, but I'd have liked to have seen more. Is there anything ZoneAlarm does well? How easy is it to install and configure? What did you do to the software before running the tests, or was it using the defaults? etc.
