If you want good quality, hot espresso drinks, don't buy this machine. Just keep looking.

Pros:Somewhat fast with steam/frothing milk.

Cons:Awful quality, plastic, espresso not hot, overpriced.

The Bottom Line: don't buy this machine, new or used. waste of money. Would recommend black and decker over this one...

Bought this new from macy's in August 2007. This machine was a total disappointment. Takes a looong time to warm up. In the time that it takes for this machine to get ready to brew, you could be happily on your way through the Starbucks drive thru (even on a busy morning) in the amount of time it takes to just get ready. Once it is ready, it takes about the same amount of time as it took to warm up to grind and brew, which would be okay if the coffee was good.

You also need to remian with it while it gets ready, since you will need to dump the water it dumps into your coffee cup or else it will add the espresso to the water. When you dump the water, hurry because it is ready with the espresso not long after it dumps the water in your cup. The espresso comes out warm-hot, not hot enough to be used in a drink. Even if you spend extra time heating the milk beyond the desired temperature, it doesn't make up for the warm espresso. Then when you power the machine down, it sprays more water, this time out of the coffee spouts and the steam tube, which is sure to make a mess if you are not sitting by the machine while you wait for it to turn off.

This machine is moderately heavy and requires a pretty good amount of counter space with no overhead cabinets in order to use properly and easily.

The only thing that I can say about this machine that is positive is the steamer, which made great microfoam and heated milk well, in about 60 seconds. Not enough to balance out the inadequacies of this machine....
