The Bottom Line These are only my views. We may not agree. I respect you, please respect me.

1)Do you believe in science's evolution theory or the Bible's creation theory?

I believe in the evolution theory. I have a hard time taking the Bible as an absolute truth. What was written in it happened close to 2000 years ago. Other parts of it are even older. I wasn’t around then (If I was then it was in a past life I don’t remember). For me, there is too much scientific proof to say that we evolved form little one cell organisms. I believe what can be proven. Someone can quote the bible to me all they want, I won’t believe it. I see the bible as a guide, not law, on how we should live our lives: Be good to each other.

Just something I heard years ago: If the creation theory is true then man’s beginnings start about 5 to 6 thousand years ago. Humans have been around much longer than that.

2) If you believe in the Bible's creation theory do you disbelieve science in other areas such as medical research, geology, astronomy, physics, biochemistry, etc?

Please see above

3) Why do you think "we are here?" (Why do humans exist?)

I have several ideas why we are here. The first is that we just happened as did everything else in the universe. The second is that we were planted here by ancient ancestors to keep our species alive. The finial idea is that we are here to entertain some kind of powerful being.

4) Can we ever truly be happy by grasping for material things (cars, houses, CDs, movies, clothes, etc.) or should we be more concerned about affecting/improving others' lives?

At one time in my life I would have said yes. I wanted and needed everything to make me happy. The more I needed the more I spent. The more I spent the larger my credit card debt became. With my debt constantly increasing the sadder I became. I needed to buy more to keep me happy. What a mistake that was. By the time I was 26 I must have purchased over $40,000 of stuff on various credit cards. I never owed more than $10,000 at a time but it was always a constant $10,000 that hovered over me. I eventually broke out of this habit, thanks to my wife and her family.

As I look back I can’t even begin to tell you what I bought (out side of my telescope and it’s accessories). I am much happier not being in debt. I don’t need things to make me happy. I have my Family, my friends, A good full time job, an amazing part-time job, and a cat.

To finally answer the question helping other is more important. I have done various community service project over the years. One of them was to help with a Habitat for Humanity house in Philly. I only did for one day but knowing that I was doing someone for some less fortunate gave me a scene of happiness. The best part of that project is how grateful the family, that got this house I helped with, was. One can find true happiness by being selfless.

5) Do you think ADD/ADHD are more a product of environment or genetics? Why do you think ADD/ADHD has become so prevalent in the last 20 or so years?

I think that both are a factor. Most of the time they are mutually exclusive but maybe some times they go hand in hand. When I was younger there weren’t that many hyper or distracted children in my classes. There were probably two in my whole grade. In that case I feel that it was genetic.

With most cases today I feel that it is environmental. The environment being the particular situations with family. I have seen to many children doing what they want and how they want. I also see the parents of these same kids not doing a thing with the children. I know children naturally have a short attention span but I also feel that this attention span can be lengthened with adult interaction. The children I see with good adult interaction seem to be more focused as they grown up. The ones with the not active parents seem to never grow out of the short attention span phase which I feel leads into the diagnosis of ADD/ADHD.

The reason It has become more prevalent over the past 20 years is that both parents have to work to make ends meet. This gives the child less time to be raised by the parents. Some of these parents spend quality time with the children after work. Those parents who are more focused on to themselves than the children probably help cause my theory stated above.

6)Are you a Democrat or Republican or something else? Why do you subscribe to that ideology?

I am registered as a Democrat. For a while I was registered as a Republican but it recently changed I actually feel like I am somewhere in the middle. The logic behind that is because I agree with issues that both parties bring up. At this time I am drawing a blank on some of those issues. Maybe at a future date I can talk about them.

7) George Bush or John Kerry for President? Why?

Kerry. I didn’t vote for Bush the first time I am sure not voting for him this time. I don’t trust Bush. He got us into a war that never had to happen. This was also based on miss-information. Also I don’t appreciate the way he is trying to get a constitutional amendment that would be, if for some reason it got passed, the first one to ever discriminate against a group of human beings. There are far more important issues that need to be discussed such as health care, retirement, money for schooling. I feel he misses the big things and is only interested in trivial things. He did a great job when 9/11 happened. Since then that is the only good thing he did. Under his watch gas prices sky-rocketed, the respect America had, in the world, has been lost, lots of people lost jobs, as well as many other things and broken promises.

8) How do you feel about Ralph Nader getting most of his support from long time Republicans in the form of campaign contributions and signatures to get Nader on the ballot this fall?

It stinks and I don’t like it. If you look at the numbers of the last election you will see that if the Nader votes went to Gore then we would not have had Bush as president. Florida would not have been an issue if Nader kept his nose in something he knows such as dangerous cars. The Republicans want Nader in the race to take votes form Kerry so that they can keep control of the government and stick it to us for another four years. No matter what one says Nader is not qualified to run this country. A vote for Nader is a vote taken away from Kerry.

9) Has toppling the regime of Saddam Hussein really made us safer? Or has it infuriated more Muslim fundamentalists and made us a bigger target?

Osama Bin Laden is safer. The Terrorist are safer. Are we safer since toppling Saddam- HELL NO!!! Bush’s war was based on what we believed to be the truth. We recently learned that Saddam had now WMDs and was not that big of a threat. Invading the Iraq, on false information only angered Muslims as it did me. Since the war Al-Quada only grew in size. Osama has virtually been forgotten about and is free to plot against us instead of rotting in a jail, fleeing for his life, or being dead.

We are also less safe because the Bush Administration did a great job at alienating us from the rest of the world. If we cause every one to hate us then who will help us in our fight against terrorist?

10) Was the Abu Ghraib torture scandal a big deal to you?

It was a big deal. You treat people the way you want to be treated. What these six solders did was a disgrace to us all as a nation. Non torture agreements were created for a reason. The US as a country should not ignore agreements just because it doesn’t suit us. If we feel that way then we should re-hash another agreement.

Guaranteed that if an American citizen were being tortured we would be, up in arms, screaming that they can’t do that, that person is an American. What makes it any different if the victim is a foreigner to us.

Finally, If you are going to do something stupid that you know is wrong: DON’T DOCUMENT IT. We don’t need more people hating America for your stupidity. Better yet DON'T DO IT!!!!!!

11) Why has Osama Bin Laden, the mastermind and financier of 9/11, been virtually ignored since the Iraq Invasion began?

Reason one: We can’t find him. Starting a war with Iraq was just a way to divert attention away form this fact.

Reason two: We actually have him. Bush and his republicans buddies are waiting for a good time to announce this fact.

12) Do you think America should support and/or participate in a possible invasion/attack against Iran?

Hell NO!!! Haven’t we lost enough solders in a war that was based on misinformation? What has Iran done to us. I know they hate us but is that any reason to pick a fight with them. The only way I could support a war against Iran if, and only if, they attack us first. Iraq was the only war the US started. May we never start another unwarranted war.

13) Have you seen or plan on seeing Fahrenheit 9/11? If you've seen it what did you think about it?

I haven’t seen it and I have no intention to see it. Knowing that Michel Moore embellished some of the facts makes me not want to see it

14) Do you think we, as a nation, are more united or more divided since 9/11?

We are more divided since 9/11. When 9/11 happened we were united as a nation. Since then things have become left or right. There hasn’t been any middle ground for the past few years. If we all met in the middle then we could be united again. The terrorist don’t need to do anything to divide us, we do a good job at it ourselves.

15) The Terminator is Governor of California, Madeleine Albright was Secretary of State under President Clinton, and other foreign born American citizens have contributed to this country. Should foreign born American citizens be allowed to run for President?

Yes!! If they lived in the States long enough, been a good citizen, been 100% supportive of the US then the answer is yes. The left their homeland to come here. By becoming an American citizen they, in a way, turned their back on their homelands.

16) Do you trust the electronic voting machines that will be used in some states this election?

Yes. They are more accurate than counting loose chads.

17) Does the United Nations fill a relevant or necessary role in today’s world?

If the UN can fix their bias towards some countries and people they I say yes. If they can’t then It should be replaced with a group that is more fair. In recent times the UN has been slow in acting to stop the genocide in the Sudan. With the conflict between Israel and The Palestinians both parties are guilty of attacking the other. It doesn’t matter who started it because it just keeps going on (both sides are guilty of acting aggressively against the other). The UN is very quick to condemn one of these two groups and not the other. Take Iraq: The UN gave Saddam things that he must follow out to prevent an invasion. Saddam tested the UN constantly by kicking them out and not cooperating with the UN. the UN never followed through with it's ultimatums. I know there is more that the UN failed to do but these are the most recent things I can think of.

18) Why are you Pro-Choice or Pro-Life?

Pro-Life. Being male who am I to tell a woman what she can and can’t do with her body. I feel abortion should be used for extreme cases such as rape, incest, If the mother’s life is in danger for having the child, will be born with a disease that will kill him/her at a young age, or if the child will be a vegetable. Out side of that abortion should not be used as a form of birth-control.

19) Why do you support or condemn the death penalty?

I believe in it under the most extreme and heinous cases. Out side of that the death penalty is not effective any more. Maybe tougher prisons would be a better deterrent

20) Any final thoughts or feelings?

We are all different and have different feelings and beliefs. We should learn to accept that fact and start embracing each others differences. We may not agree with each other but we should all respect each other. If we all start respecting each other then maybe the our country and perhaps the world will become a better place. In the end be good to each other.
