The best part is that almost all of it is now done. The knee cradle actually WORKS on the pads now, and my knees are a solid inch or two above my feet. The catch glove has an extra inch of padding all around, and I cant feel a rubber mallet pounding on the blocker face. Don't really want to try the lexan part, but regardless, it should work better than it smashing my fingers.

I'm also thinking about switching to a different idea for the mask: one-layer, one-piece carbon fiber laminate. It wouldn't need to be painted, and the kind of carbon fiber fabric I can get locally and cheaply has a nice kevlar blend which just ho happens to match my school colours. If it works, it will look ridiculously cool.

Good luck with all the work man! Lexan is a bit of overkill on some of that stuff, but it certainly beats broken bones. Most pro level gear has ABS backed by foam rubber. With Lexan the rebounds are going to sail (which I personally prefer to having them drop near my feet). Sounds like a lot of work.
