My wife and I recently built a large house with lots of beige and white colored carpets. Everyone tells us that we're nuts because four kids and light-colored carpets don’t mix. Although I disagree with the part about being nuts, I’ll admit that they’re right about the carpet and kids. Our carpets do require frequent attention. The spray-on spot cleaners only work for so long before a real carpet cleaner is necessary.
Once you decide it’s time to clean your carpets, you’re faced with the following three choices:
1. Rent a carpet cleaner – I found this method to be inconvenient because I had to drive to the store to rent the cleaner. I had to visit multiple stores sometimes because all of their carpet cleaners were already rented. I sometimes had to make a second trip back to the store because their carpet cleaner didn’t work when I got it home. My Hoover is not only more convenient, but it’s also saving me money on rental fees!
2. Pay a professional carpet cleaner – Although this method was convenient and the carpets were spotless, it cost a few hundred dollars to clean the entire house.
3. Buy a carpet cleaner – After paying a professional a few hundred dollars just to clean my carpets, I decided that it was time to buy a carpet cleaner. I was able to buy my Hoover and enough cleaning solution to clean the entire house two times for less money than the professionals were charging for a single cleaning.
Before I bought our carpet cleaner, I visited epinions to research what was available and learn what other members thought about their carpet cleaners. The number of people who recommended the Hoover was a pleasant surprise. This made my decision to purchase the Hoover an easy one. It didn’t take long for me to buy our Hoover because it just so happened that our local department store had Hoover carpet cleaners on sale.
It was very quick and easy to unpack and assemble our new Hoover carpet cleaner. I was ready to use our new Hoover in just a few minutes after getting it home. When it was time to put our new Hoover to the test, I headed for the dirtiest white carpet in our house. I was truly amazed at the results! Although the toughest stains required two or three treatments and some spray-on spot cleaner, they did come clean. I couldn’t believe that I was looking at the same carpet when I was done.
What I Like:
1. Five variable speed (high/low/off) rotary brushes deep clean tough stains.
2. The Hoover’s excellent suction means the carpet is clean and nearly dry immediately after cleaning.
3. It’s very simple to fill the cleaning solution tank and empty the dirty solution tank.
4. The easy to use cleaning wand and hose works great on car interiors, upholstery, and stairs.
5. The long power cord makes it possible to clean entire rooms and hallways without having to look for another electric outlet.
6. Because the Hoover is lighter than rental carpet cleaners, it’s easier to carry up and down stairs.
What I Dislike:
1. Small tanks require frequent stops to empty dirty solution and refill cleaning solution. Most rooms take three tanks of cleaning solution.
2. The cleaning solution is rather expensive at nearly $16 per bottle.
Overall, I am very pleased with our Hoover carpet cleaner. Now that we have our Hoover nearby and ready to use, our carpets always look great because I’m able to clean stains right away. My only regret is that I didn’t buy one sooner!
