Breaker and the hunters
Joe Ziehm

Waking up from a long dream of his past Paul Breaker could remember when his name was Southern and he could relish that when he was a child. As he looked out at the harsh Mars night full of snow he longed for being in Canada again. Opening the window he enjoyed the crisp cool air and felt along the window sill. Here it was safe some place where he could survive away from hunting. Living a peaceful life as a candy shop owner and on the side he sold childrens books and movies. It was a happy life for him and he enjoyed knowning that he no longer had days where he had to count the dead hunters in his unit while his living armor slowly healed his wounds. Opening his jacket he reached out and grabbed a snow flake and since the planet had been created as a second Earth it was home. When the demons overran Earth it was that when he decided to retire and get himself away from the blood thirst and the madness of it all.
"What is it?" Sakura asked from the bed covering herself. "Is everything all right?"
"Yes." Breaker answered with a smile. "Tomorrow I'll go to sector seventeen and grab some German choclates the children love them."
"Do you miss it?"
"Blood thirsty and the madness that follows it Sakura." Breaker answered turning around watching her carefully. "Whatever, happened to Jack Walt?"
"Our son?"
"Yeah."
"Jack is now an MPD all sectors officer."
"He's got access above me."
"Needs to do we're retired now Paul."
"They've said there coming here."
"Why?"
"We wiped them out on Earth after they overran it but we destroyed are home world."
Jack Walt the Japanese-American MPD officer who easily breezed through life with a friendly smile and very little violence. That wasn't always true when he started out as a hunter for the most part he was always the one working in covert operations. Carefully dispatching enemies without allowing himself to be detected like Breaker in some senses. Breaker though ran distractions though heavily out numbered he reduced key weapons with simple attacks. It was always for hundreds of thousands of dollars more then Walt earned because every mission Breaker knew he might never survive. It also became standard because of the higher rates that Breaker's weapons had costed him. Looking out at the night he heard a woman scream and waited as he heards more screams...
Part I
As the Space Marines slowly went through the area they prepared their weapons and watched the town carefully. Demonic forces had been reported here less then a half hour ago as they marched through the area an old man with a sniper rifle came out with his hands up. Looking at them they watched him carefully drawing weapons to ready.
"My name is Paul Breaker I'm a retired demon hunter." He began.
"How long retired?" The commanding office asked.
"Two hundred years."
"Holy, is this guy a vampire or werewolf sir?" One of them asked.
"Shut up." Breaker looked him dead in the eye.
"Any survivors?" The Lt. asked.
"Ten rest were torn apart pretty nasty."
"What are you going to do Mr. Breaker?"
"Ever hear of a hunter named Jack Walt?"
"Yeah, he's on vacation.... with my sister inside of the French sector."
"Great, just great... honeymoon isn't it?"
"Yeah, I'm a little thick sometimes thanks Paul." Elliot said with a laugh and a wink.
Elliot he sure knew how to hide himself well and he knew he'd have to leave the Marines soon. Compile his old teams together what was left alive and the only man to complete the dangerously deadly missions stood right in front of him. A sniper rifle on his back and two plasma pistols on his hips making him look like a Wild West gun slinger.
Walking away Elliot noticed as Sakura slowly walked away from them and the young Private watched both of them carefully. A Lt. leading a shift of Marines that was good planning Elliot it made sense to Breaker hide yourself away. There were public records of hunters now thanks to corrupt and greedy demons who had managed to hide themselves away. Now armies of hunters lied dead at Venus buried forever but not gone shipped to help humanity when they were needed most. Never dead really vampires and werewolves who were pure never died they slept to regain themselves.
