| tuffyt's Full Review: Dawn Direct Foam Dishwashing Detergent |
A couple of months ago I decided to try a new dishwashing soap. With all the talk of saving our resources for future generations, I decided that I had to look for ways to do my part. I began to look for a dishwashing soap that did not require me to fill my sink full of soapy water. I figured that I would be saving on both the amount of water that I used and also the number of pollutants that I was sending down my drain. I typically to not have that many dishes and filling the sink each time seemed like a waste. I had heard about Dawn Direct Foam and decided to give it a try.
Looking at the bottle, I would have to wonder if it could stand up to all of its promises.
First: This product also claims to be an antibacterial hand soap. As I keep it on the counter next to my sink, I thought this was great. Added to my prospect of saving money. My children and my husband use it for their hand washing purposes quite frequently. My nine year old son loves the foam to lather action so it has become a great tool for getting him to wash his hands. It is also so much more cost effective than those children's soap that you buy that do the same thing.
Second: This 13.5 oz. bottle of wonder states that you can get 250 pumps. I must admit that I have never been able to keep up with the count, but I can tell you that each bottle lasts me two months or better. I would have to say that it comes close.
Third: It claims to cut 10 x more grease. I am not sure about that, but it does work very well on my greasy dishes as well as those annoying counter and stove tops.
PRODUCT INFORMATION:
Dawn Direct Foam is the first dish cleaner to:
* use a breakthrough foaming technology
* absorb 10 x more grease than a regular dish cleaner
* use less water
(This information can be found at www.dawndirectfoam.com)
There are three different flavors of Dawn Direct Foam to choose from. They are as follows: Fresh Rapids, Citrus Kick, and Lime Surge. There may be more, but this is all that my local market carries. The Fresh Rapids is blue in color, the Citrus Kick is orange, and the Lime Surge is green. I personally purchase the Citrus Kick, so that is what this review is based on. I chose this particular one as when I smelled them at the store, it had the most pleasing smell.
USSAGE INFORMATION:
1.) Push the pump once onto your favorite dish washing sponge.
2.) Wash your dishes
a.) Do Not submerge sponge in water
b.) Reactive the foam with a minimal amount of water and a squeeze of the sponge
3.) Rinse your dishes
** Remember, never pump the Dawn Direct Foam directly into your sink as it will not lather.
Overall, I thought that this was a great product. It saves time, money, and water in the kitchen. All of which met my initial goal when purchasing the product.
