Pros: Laugh out loud movie, Somewhat faithful to the cartoon.
Cons: Alex Neuberger (jack) seemed to be somewhat wooden in his scenes.
The Bottom Line: There's not many movies remakes that are worth seeing, but this is one of them. Sit back and return to a time when superheros were simple and pure.

| aklesh3's Full Review: Underdog |
I spent many happy hours glued to the TV as I was growing up. I was born on a Saturday at 7:00 am, just in time for cartoons! Underdog was one of my very favorites. "There's no need to fear! Underdog is here!" I could sing the theme song for years. (and still can to this day).
Underdog first debuted on October 3, 1964, on the NBC network and continued in syndication until 1973.
Most people that I speak with remember the show somewhat, but seemed to have forgotten a lot of the details. When the script for the movie was written either a lot of research was done, or they really loved the cartoon.
I was a little disappointed that so much from the cartoon was changed or left out all together. Like the fact that when he wasn't being Underdog, he was incognito as Shoeshine Boy, a dog that walked upright, wore glasses and pants.
Nor was his power a natural part of his, when trouble arose he would take a "Underdog Super Energy Pill" from a hollow ring that would give him his powers. For a while.
But there were many things that they kept also. That he almost always spoke in rhyme:
When Polly's in trouble, I am not slow,
So it's hip! hip! hip! and away I go.
Or Polly saying "Oh where, oh where has my Underdog gone?
There's not many movies that make me laugh out loud but this is one of the few. By the same token, there's not many movies that I'll watch more than once, (other than Rocky Horror), but again this is one of them. I've now seen it 7 times and will see it again. The acting is good, not great but good.
The CGI is amazing, it really looks like the dog is talking. There was only one or two parts where I could tell when it switched over to CGI. The first time I went to see it, there was a lot of adults with their children, but by the fifth and sixth time it was almost all adults.
It's not a scary movie, but there are a few scenes in the lab that small children could get frighten over. I did hear one little girl getting upset afraid that Dr. Simon Barsinister was going to hurt the doggies but other then that all the children that I saw there seemed to enjoy it.
