Pros: Cascade delivers spotless glassware. Electrosol is easier to open.
Cons: Cascade is hard to open, Electrosol leave spots on glasses.
The Bottom Line: Cascade is more expensive than Electrosol, but does a much better job giving you spotless glasses. Both products do well on the rest of the dishes.

Upon opening the dishwasher, I saw some spot
It was on my glasses, and even my pot.
I expected clean dishes the water was hot,
But when I removed them, clean they were not!
I rinsed first because perfection was sought
The Electrosol® didnt clean at all like it ought.
Then on wash number two, history was made
The glasses were sparkling after making the trade.
I could easily clean up dinner thanks to Cascade®!
Washing was simple no games were played.
Just clean glasses, the shine did not fade,
You can now open the dishwasher and not be afraid.
Cascade Complete®
Ive been using variations of Cascade® for over half my life. It was only after trying a variety of discount powder dishwasher detergents that left crystal gunk on our dishes that we switched to the liquid Cascade® version and never looked back.
Now This Version of Cascade Complete® boasts about not needing to pre-wash your dishes, just scrape and load. I say this version because a couple of years ago I was buying another Cascade Complete® that got its name by bundling up the dishwasher detergent with the rinse aid. The current product came in a Fresh Scent and is blue, while the old product was in a Citrus Scent and was orange.

Cascade Complete® VS. Electrosol® 2in1 PowerGel®: The Battle!
For bottle ergonomics and easy-to-open packaging, Electrosol wins hands down. The Electrosol is in a tall, yellow bottle with a flip-top lid. The Cascade Complete is in a short, squat, bottle with a squeeze-and-turn lid, which is great for those who have kids, but not for those with hand ailments. For the squeeze lid reason alone I have been searching for a replacement for Cascade, trying Sunlight, Palmolive, etc. I just have a hard time opening the bottle, and since I am the one who gets to do the dishwashing, the bottle better work for me!
The other place that the Electrosol clearly beat out its competition was in the lemon scent. I love lemon-scented products, but the scent did not last the wash, just the initial application. The Cascade Complete has a strong soapy-scent. I did not prefer the Cascade Complete scent.
In every other aspect, Cascade Complete not only got the dishes cleaner, they looked better because there were no hard water spots on anything. On regular dishes, both products were equal because I grew up hand-washing dishes, and then using the old portables when kitchens werent designed originally to accommodate dishwashers, and if you didnt clean first, the dishes didnt come out clean. Old habits die hard, and I just cannot bring myself to scrape and load. Aint happening. Maybe when Im on travel and my husband makes a big enough mess to do the dishes before I get home, they will be just scraped and loaded, but not by me.
Just to keep things fair in this competition, I repeated the way I loaded the dishwasher in all cases. The first 2 loads with Electrosol contained large pots, collanders, Pyrex 11" x 13" casarole dishes, cutting boards and some plates. I rinsed each piece before loading it in the dishwasher, and overfilled the main dishwasher soap tray before closing of my 6 yr old KitchenAid Superba dishwasher. I cleaned each load at "Normal" with energy saving "Air Dry". Both products cleaned the ceramic or aluminum dishes well, but only Cascade Complete got the Pyrex dish spot free and sparkling.
The next set of 2 trials were comprised of plates, flatware, cups, glasses and serving spoons. Again, the dishes were rinsed before entering the dishwasher, and again, the glassware came out with many spots after using Electrosol, but were sparkling clean with Cascade. The other plates and cups and flatware came out the same with both detergents.
The Judgment
After 10 rounds, Cascade Complete was voted by all but the French Judge to be the winner of the battle of the dishwasher. The French Judge was paid off by the Russians to give a higher score to the easy-to-open Electrosol® 2in1 PowerGel®. Upon discovery of the bribe, that vote was thrown out.
I will continue to use Cascade products at my main house until I can find one that works as well that has a Flip-Top lid.
I am using the remaining Electrosol® 2in1 PowerGel® at my vacation home since it septic system friendly.
I was provided the opportunity to be a judge in this competition by Hass MS&L, who provided both products covered in exchange for my honest opinion posted in a comparative review on Epinions.com.
