The Bottom Line Motley Crue was formed in 1981 and have rocked hard worldwide since then.
Motley Crue Latest Goss Well I'll start by briefing you on Mick Mars's condition. Mick is amazing, he has a tour with Motley Crue planned which is likey to run over a year or so. He has already played a few dates with the band, and after a hip replacement a month or two ago, he is despite the pain, going to tour the world for the fans & weighing in at a featherweight 112 lbs, there is no sign of "no" in this inspirational man. Vince Neil has (apparently) kicked his drinking habit where the sun don't shine, and is in the best shape he's been in for years. His singing is also sounding very noticably better. Unnfortunately there is an arrest warrant issued for Vince because of an assault to a sound man at one of his shows a few months back. That could mean devastation for the tour. Tommy Lee suffered first and second degree burns at a recent show. After the incident he managed to play one more song for the fans before having to go to hospital. Apparently the band has read over the script for the movie based on their New York Times best seller autobiography, "The Dirt". Vince said he is expecting the movie out "sometime in 2006" which spells a bloody long wait for Crue fans. Vince Neil married his fiance Lia Gerardini on 9 January 2005. The rapper MC Hammer conducted the wedding which is the fourth for Vince, second for Lia. Mick and long time girlfriend Robbie Mantooth broke up in December of last year. Robbie is suing Mick for half of his possesions, claiming Mick made her a promise implying that. Mick has a history of women taking advantage of him dating back to the late '80s with Emi Canyn taking all of his money he made in the Dr Feelgood era. We can only hope everything works out for Mick. --- A Motley Story that follows the journey of bassist Nikki Sixx Born Franklin Carlton Serafino Feranna (now known as Nikki Sixx) on the 11th December 1958 to Deana Haight and Frank Carlton Feranna Sr who would leave young Frank and his mother three years later. Franks mother wanted to name her son Russell or Michael, but Frank Sr immediately named the baby after himself without the consent of Deana. Before Frank Sr takes off just 3 short years later, he leaves another child with Deana, a little girl, Lisa, but Frank Jr is soon told that Lisa had to leave and to never contact her. It wasnt until 1997 that he discovered that his little sister was put in home for the handicapped, because she had Down syndrome, was blind, crippled & a mute. He vows to visit his sister right after the tour he was on at the time (Generation Swine), but she passes away just before he got to meet her. Frank had it tough as a child, he was constantly on the move, never living in one place long enough to make any friends & as a result, he didnt try in school because he knew hed be gone within a month or so. He lived with his grandparents when he got in the road of his mothers wild life and when he became to much for his grandparents to handle, they sent him back to live with his mother. Franks mother was never there for him & when he was in his early teens Frank ran to one of his friends houses, borrowed a knife & proceeded to stab himself in the elbow, ring the cops & say his mother attacked him in a bid to free himself from her. But his plan back fired when the cops said theyd have to put him in juvenile hall until he was old enough to live by himself. So Frank bargained with his mother and said he wouldnt press charges if she would let him be, so she did. Not long after that, Frank left home. His mother was only a bad influence on him anyway (she smoked pot with Frank when he was only seven). The only thing Frank had all these years was music, bands like Deep Purple Frank liked especially. When Frank was 14 he stole his first bass from a music shop (he asked for a job application form & when the guy turned around to get him one, he stuffed a bass into a guitar case a friend lent him & walked out after receiving his form) because a friend was starting a band and needed a bassist. Frank waltzes in with his new bass & declares hell be their bassist. His friend declares thats a guitar, you f*cking idiot, Frank is shocked but replies I know, Ill play bass on guitar, you cant do that replies his friend & with that, Frank bids farewell to his first guitar & with the money he got from his guitar he buys a black Rickenbacker bass with a white pick guard. At first Frank was hopeless at bass, but he wanted to make it no matter what so as a result he practiced for hours on end. By this time Frank had tried to contact his father to find out why he abandoned him when he was 3. Frank Sr says he has no son & hangs up. Frank Jr is distraught and soon after changes his name to Nikki Sixx. With a dream of founding the worlds ultimate rock band, Nikki began looking tirelessly for potential bands that had what it takes to hit it big & after searching constantly he decided to start his own band, from the ground up. One night Nikki sees a band called Suite 19 play & he was blown away by the energy of their drummer. Nikki jams with the guitarist from Suite 19, Greg Leon & asks about that drummer he saw, it turns out his name is Tommy Lee & after getting his number from Greg, Nikki wastes no time and calls him. Tommy is stoked to get a call from Nikki (because Tommy happens to have a poster of Nikkis band at the time, London, on his wall). They arrange to meet up & after Nikki plays Tommy a few singles he was working on, Tommy is in the band. Nikkis not happy with the guitarist they had at the time so they get rid of him and look in The Recycler for a new one. They find an ad for a loud, rude, aggressive guitarist & immediately respond to it. Tommy gives the number provided a ring and invites this loud, rude, aggressive guitarist over to audition. When the guitarist arrives Tommy thinks he looks like Cousin Itt (you know, that hairy thing in the Addams Family), when Nikki sees him , he says, finally another one who looks like us. The guitarist, Mick Mars is hired on the spot. Micks first action in his new band is to fire the other guitarist, Robin, because he feels that Robin is a pansy. Micks theory is proven correct when Robin cries upon being told hes out of the band. Now all this band needs is a singer & Mick recalls seeing a charismatic blonde singer that could grab an audience with ease and never lose their attention. That singers name is Vince and Tommy happened to know him from high school. So Tommy speaks to Vince about this band hes putting together and asks him to audition. Vince doesnt because hes happy with his current band Rock Candy. A few weeks later when Rock Candy is scheduled to play a gig, Vince is the only one who turns up. This infuriates him and he leaves Rock Candy soon after. Not long after that he runs into Tommy again and this time he tries out for the band then known as Christmas. Mick recalls one time in the past when his old band was referred to as a Motley crew & proposes the name Mottly Kruu as Christmass new name. Nikki changes the spelling to Motley Crue & the rest is history. Life's passed him by. Little old woman scared and blind, left alone in desparate times. Life's passed her by. Oh, life, it's misunderstood them, so they close their eyes and dream of better days. Oh, life, it's misunderstood, yeah. Life's not always fair, or so they say. Little boy with vacant eyes, daddy won't be home tonight. And he don't know why. His mother, she sits alone tangled in the web she's sewn. Lives lie to lie. Strangled, caged, left alone, doin' time in a broken home. Feelin' left to die. I'm a product of your troubled ways. You made me what I am today. Now you're asking why. Oh, life's misunderstood me, so I close my eyes and dream of better days. Oo, life's misunderstood me. Life's not always fair, life's not always fair or so they say. or so they say. Restless soul deep inside searches for some piece of mind. Livin' just to die. I'm an angry man and I always have had to fight to survive my past. A sign of those times. Life, it's misunderstood me and I know you know that you've been there too. Time lets a restless soul fade away. Life's not always fair, life's not always fair, or so they say. Little boy with hopeful eyes, daddy's comin' home tonight. So don't you cry. --- Thats a brief lesson on Motley Crue. If you're still hungry for more pick up a copy of "The Dirt" (Motley Crue's Autobiography).
