The Bottom Line This is the introduction essay to end all others. Fear it.

Hello Epinioners (or whatever you're all called). I am a new user that has just started to post reviews this weekend, and because there has been an interest in my work, I have decided to prepare a little presentation about myself. If someone could please go shut off the lights, we can begin. (And if I catch anyone falling asleep, I will pour my bottle of water on their head.) Now where was I? Oh, right --- the glorious question-and-answer session with the people of Epinions. Without further ado, let's get started...

Q. What does your username mean, anyways?

A. If you have read any of my reviews, you might have taken note of the funny-looking word that I've used as my nickname here. You might have wondered what it means, and you might have given yourself a stroke trying to pronounce it. OK class, suffer no more --- today you will find out what it's all about. My username is Podmoskovye. The word is of Russian origin and it refers to a dense forest on the outskirts of Moscow. Podmoskovye Forest is actually a part of the villages of Kuntsevo and Volynskoye, even though some people might like to put it within Muscovite city limits. Now, I know what you may be thinking --- why would I name myself after this Russian forest? Well, I actually chose the name because I have had a recurring dream about being there (no, I've never gone in person) and living in this two-story house by a river in the middle of the birch forest. I didn't know it was the Podmoskovye Forest until I saw a picture of the same river I'd seen in my dreams. Talk about creeeepy stuff.

Q. How old are you, and what's your gender?

A. I'm a 16-year-old female and I am in high school. If that in any way adversely affects how you read my reviews, I'll hit you with a rolling pin.

Q. What is your REAL name?

A. That is for me to know, and you not to find out, unless you want me to send my security after you. (Trust me, you really, really don't.)

Q. Do you have any books that you would like to recommend?

A. Anything by George Orwell is always a good choice, especially 1984 and Animal Farm. I also enjoyed the Middle-Earth books by JRR Tolkien and Prague by Arthur Phillips.

Q. What about music...any favorites there?

A. Anyone that knows the slightest bit about me knows how much of a music geek I am. I will listen to almost any type of music (although I'm not a big fan of country or most rap, sorry to say) and I am glad to share my obsession with people here on Epinions. If you must know the particulars, my favorite genres of music are electronica, alternative, progressive, trip-hop, new wave, and regular pop. My favorite artists are Bjork, Mum, Madonna, Goldfrapp, Einsturzende Neubauten, Lali Puna, Radiohead, and No Doubt.

Q. Do you know of any films you particularly liked?

A. Yes, as a matter of fact I do. Some of the ones that I like include Metropolis, Minority Report, Spirited Away, The Bodyguard, The Lord of the Rings, and Dancer In The Dark. If you really need an explanation as to why I like these movies, you can attribute it to my strange, diverse taste in entertainment and wait patiently for the inevitable reviews.

Q. Do you like to write anything other than reviews?

A. Yes. In my spare time, my favorite thing to do is get out some headphones, pop in a CD, and sit down at my computer to write something random. Depending on my mood, I will write short stories, poems, or attempt to get past my writer's block concerning the book that I'm trying to finish. I like a good challenge and sometimes don't mind writing something strange like fanfiction or something from a prompt, but just don't suggest that I write your homework essay on War and Peace for you.

Q. I want to pick your brain on global issues --- How do you feel about politics, religion, and all that stuff we aren't supposed to talk about in mixed company?

A. First of all, don't pick my brain. It hurts.

Well, to answer the question at hand, I happen to be a political Centrist. I used to be a far-leftist, but now I have found that there are some ideas from both ends of the spectrum that I like. I still am left of center when it comes to some social issues, but don't worry about that. I promise not to put subliminal messages relating to certain presidential campaigns in my reviews. Epinions is a politically Centrist creature --- much like me, actually ---and I'd like to keep it that way.

I currently don't know what religion I am. I'd like to make that clear...I don't want any assumptions. I have spent years looking into various world religions, and chances are that when I decide on the one I want to practice, it will be a private decision influenced by myself and myself alone.

Q. Where do you see yourself in 10 years? 20?

A. In 10 years, I will probably have my career started. I don't know what I really want to do, though. I'd like to make a living as a writer, but you often need a day job do fall back on for that. I've thought about being a journalist, since I like researching and reporting. I've also considered being an attorney, because I'm involved in debate club and enjoy stating my case and arguing for it. I've also had a passing interest in becoming a politician, I think being a Legislator would be pretty fun.

In 20 years, I'd like to be retired already, but that's highly unlikely unless I become the next Bill Gates or something. Let's just say that I'd like to have my property in the middle of the Northern woods where I can build my house and set it up the way I like. Lots of dense trees are a must, as is an imposing gate. What can I say, I like my seclusion! Besides that, I have always found it a romantic notion to own property way out in the middle of nowhere where I could waste time writing all day and spend the evenings dining and discussing the state of the world with my one-and-only.

Q. Is there anything else that you'd like to say?

A. Not really, unless you would like to hear my rendition of Madonna's Express Yourself. (*Cue sounds of screaming from a fifteen-mile radius*) I really didn't think so...
