We ordered the Quinny Buzz stroller and the matching Quinny Dreami bassinet. The bassinet came in Quinny packaging, was wrapped in plastic, and brand new. Great.
The Buzz stroller did not come in the original packaging. On the side of the box was a sticker that said the original packaging was not suitable for shipping. The bassinet box was suitable, but the stroller box was not? When my husband saw it, he told me that the fact that it wasn't in the original box wasn't a good sign. We opened the box, and it was obvious this $500 stroller that we paid full price for had been used. The frame was scuffed, the seat was dirty, the wheels were worn down and dirty, there were missing parts, no manual, and nothing was wrapped in plastic. To top it off, when my husband pulled it out of the box, a purple crayon rolled out of the seat. There also was not enough packing material in the box to protect the stroller.
The person at customer service seemed to be mortified that we were sent a used stroller, but how else could she react? We received the return label quickly, and shipped it back. We're supposed to get a new one as soon as they receive the used one. We included specific instructions regarding leaving the new stroller in its original packaging and putting it in another box if the original box doesn't look like it will make it. Let's see if they follow through.
When you're spending almost $700 on a stroller system, you should get a new stroller, not some random person's used return. If they screw up this time, they'll deal with my husband, and that won't be pretty.
