| darren34's Full Review: Pride of Aloha |
I chose this particular cruise because of the itinerary and fact I could embark from an Hawaiian port. I was not disappointed with the ports of call. Hawaii is a beautiful state and there are a multitude of excursions which allow you to explore each. The excursions that I took were great.
I had researched NCL's Pride of Aloha prior to selecting this cruise and read all the negative reviews regarding the service. While the service is not up to par with other cruises I have taken, I found many of the crew/staff to be very attentive and helpful. However, NCL should be ashamed to offer such poor quality staterooms and service to the staterooms. My bed was literally a cot with a three inch mattress. I asked for a foam crate but never received. I ended up taking the mattress off the sleeper sofa and put on top of the cot mattress to try and make it more comfortable. I had to ask to have the glasses exchanged in the bathroom.
The arrangement for the buffet line is terrible. There is a huge bottleneck created because the door leading to the buffet, the beverage station, and the ice cream station are all at the same location--what a mess this created. The food and presentation of the buffet was average.
The specialty restaurants were very nice and the staff were very attentive in these restaurants.
The entertainment was average.
