Are you sick and tired of write-off’s that ask you a lot of personal questions? Feeling like you are spending more time in the Writers Corner than you are writing reviews? Well, fear not, lowly Epinion-writer I have got the cure for you! Announcing --- “Let’s See You Review This! 2” This is the summer of sequels you know. This is how this works. And, it’s not like your typical write-off. Before the writing can even begin, the first thing you need to do is join. So for a period of two weeks we will have open enrollment where anyone can join by emailing me at: elynus@gmail.com Once we have a set of people together (preferably an even number) we come to the picking round. In groups of five selected at random, I will email those five people (so make sure you have email address that I can send email to) and tell them they have 48 hours to select someone from the list of available participants. Like last time, if two people select the same person, the person who emailed first gets that person. This will be repeated until everyone has a pair. As an added note, I would suggest you try to pick someone you do not normally know or communicate with. Now that we have people paired up, the true nature of Lets See You Review This! comes into play. Each person will select a movie for the other person to review. Once this selection has been made, again, email me so I can add the title to my profile page. When selecting the movie you can choose to pick one that you like and want the other person to review to see their take, you can pick a movie you think the other person will like, one they may dislike, or one that seems out of what they would normally review. Anything goes! To be fair, however, if after having a movie selected for you and you cannot find the movie or it would require you spending money on it (more than a rental) then please communicate with the other person that they need to select a replacement (and again, notify me too). Let say reviews are to be posted on September 20th, 2004 the last day of summer. This time, why not leave me a comment to this announcement that you have posted instead of sending an email. And, of course, unlike this announcement, make sure to post your review in the appropriate Epinions’ topic and not here in the Writers Corner. As I kind of mentioned above, I will be keeping track of everything on my profile page. So check it often. Now, in case you are lost on how this all works, here is an example: Participants: Jack Pete Nancy Jane Paul Linda People then select. Jack picks Nancy Pete picks Jane Nancy picks Jack Jane picks Pete Paul picks Linda Linda picks Paul After looking over some of their reviews, they decide. Jack who picked Nancy wants Nancy to review Dude Where’s? My Car because Nancy does seem to review comedies and he’s interested to see what she would say about the movie. Pete who picked Jane wants Jane to review a black and white Tarzan movie just for kicks and to play a pun on her name. Nancy who picked Jack wants Jack to review a foreign film because all Jack writes about are the biggest new releases made in Hollywood. Jane who picked Pete wants Pete to review Blair Witch 2 because she doesn’t like Pete and wants him to suffer. Paul who picked Linda wants Linda to review a kids movie because she’s a good Mom. Linda who picked Paul wants Paul to review a movie from Paul’s top 10 bad movies of a certain year that Paul listed in an editorial for the heck of it. I think you get the idea. Because the picking process can take some time, the first part of this write off is going to be a little boring with all the “administrative” stuff. But hopefully once all is said and done and set, we can all have some fun. Here are some examples from last time: Mfunk75 chooses D_Fienberg to review F.I.S.T.
