Re: I believe you! (Reply to this comment)

Drugs aren't in everybody's past. They weren't a staple in mine, for some of my friends, yes.
In spite of this, would you believe that I'm for the decriminalization of drugs when used by consenting adults--but not for complete legalization. It would just make it easier for people to get help and get off of them if more money were put into rehabilitation programs and less into building more prisons to house victimless criminals.
And I'm for the total legalization of marijuana for medicinal purposes while discouraging recreational use.
When society gets out of a judgmental and punitive mindset, I believe that something like this can become a reality instead of wishful thinking.
As for myself, I have no desire to use hard drugs like crack cocaine, LSD, etc. and believe that people who do should be required to get help to free themselves of this kind of addiction.
I don't see myself using marijuana, either, unless it would be for health reasons.
Why cloud up your mind? Life can be confusing enough with a clear mind!
So tell us more about your book- When, who, what, where and why. I'd love to see it.
Just use this referral link, if you aren't already a member of Cafepress.com:
http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/storeref.aspx?refby=BabyBear1952
This will give you a membership there (free and painless), and you can shop at the many stores selling everything from posters to bumper stickers to clothing to CDs to coffee mugs to. . .and the list goes on with, of course, books!!!
Unless something else comes up in the way of a delay, I should have three books up by the end of the day.
Go to my online store, to which a link will be provided, if you put BabyBear1952 into the site's search window, and go to the section on books, which I'm calling Books & Bookorabilia.
Keep looking until you see the books show up--or you can wait until I leave you a comment saying that the books have arrived.
One of them is that piece I wrote about my folks called Canada Geese & Honeysuckles here at the E-site but with some updates and a beautiful cover added--not to mention lovely fonts!
The others are the first two books in a travel series I'm writing--but they're a whole lot more than mere travel books.
There will, of course, be other books in the future, because I have a lot to say and the POD format (print-on-demand) enables me to create an unlimited amount of books with no out-of-pocket expense to me.
But I'll be telling more about that in my upcoming review of Cafepress.com.
Anyway, I hope you'll go over and check them out!
I love what you did to the car. Your dad must have been so proud!
He was--and he didn't mind the teasing at all!!!
I dolled up my latest vehicle (minivan) in a similar way, and he loved going with me for rides. I really miss being able to look over and see him in the seat beside me--yet, I believe that he's closer than he might seem even now!
You had the Glorified Prom Experience. Let me bow down to you. As I've told others, I didn't go. I do regret that decision. It was so enjoyable getting Jill ready for her Junior prom. she looked so pretty!
It was a glorified prom experience in more ways than one--for one thing, I think that it cost each student under three dollars to attend. Can't remember exact amount. But, back then, going to the prom was affordable for everyone.
Tell me more about Jill and her prom!!!
You sound like a wonderful person, Thanks for letting us get to know you better.
Thanks for the compliment, and I really enjoyed doing this!!! Thanks for hosting this wonderful W/O!!!
Hugs!

Aw C'mon! Go for it!!! As the younger generation (Didn't we used to be a part of that!?!) says, "Just do it!!!"
I'm sure that it will be both fun and heartwarming to read, judging from your other nostalgic slices of life, so I'm looking forward to doing so!
Write On!
