I was a customer of Stamps.com for 2.5 years and have to say, I wasn't impressed with their service at all. Switching to Endicia, it is now easier to write a review about Stamps.com because I have something to compare it too.
First off Stamps.com has lousy customer service. I had to use customer support 3 times during my entire 2.5 years and would rate them poor. Their software does not auto-clear the insurance field for the next transaction and ended up costing me over $28 in extra insurance that their support department told me I should have paid more attention. They were right, I paid attention so much that I looked for another service.
We are never perfect and our printers are never perfect. When you do a refund through Stamps.com for mis-printed postage, you never know where you stand. On some issues, I would mail end by misprints and would never hear from them again. On other issues, they would make it sound like they are doing me a favor by giving me a refund. Something to the tune of "Although your postage is non-refundable, we are giving you a refund anyways because we value your business."
With Endicia, I was given better tools for refunds and always kept in the loop of the status. They understand that printers jam, that humans make mistakes and they have a much better tracking system.
Also, when searching for alternatives to Stamps.com I was turned off my Stamps.com pending or filed lawsuits against competitors. It seemed like the mentality, if you can't beat them, sue them.
After switching to Endicia, I noticed it integrates nicely with other applications and with my business. Overall I give Stamps.com a BIG thumbs down.
