Ok, I am a book worm extraordinaire! I love to read, but our local library doesn't have the best selection and the cost of printing has sent book prices sky high in recent years. Selection and prices are two reasons I love Half.com! Here are details on those and others...
PRICES:
I have picked up great deals on the books at Half.com. It is quite common to pick up twenty dollar books for less than two dollars plus a couple more dollars shipping. Most of the books I have bought there have been in new condition. Rarely is one even in slightly used condition, and that is usually when it is a book that has been out of print for some time. The sellers I have dealt with have had a tendency to under promise and over deliver. The new customer discount is a nice bonus. Feel free to email me for a code to use for the discount.
AVAILABILITY:
You can add books to your wish list if you aren't ready to purchase them right away, but be warned, someone else may come along and buy them if you wait. Chances are, another copy will be listed soon though. Another feature of the wish list is that you can add a book that you are looking for and receive emails telling you when the books you are looking for are listed. You can choose the price, condition and even seller rating you are willing to accept.
FINDING THE BOOKS YOU WANT:
The easiest way to add a book is to enter the ISBN off the back cover. That way you are certain to get the book you are looking for. Of course, older books don't have these numbers, so you can also search by author or title.
SHIPPING:
I like the flat shipping rate per book. It is less than other booksellers' rates. It would be nice if you could combine shipping costs when buying more than one book, but I just always figure the shipping into the price I am willing to pay for a book. All the books I have received have arrived in top condition, packed very securely by the sellers. The two most recent purchases I made at Half.com were on September 6th. I received one book on September 10 and the second on the 11th! I was shocked at the speed. :)

If you buy at Half.com, please leave feedback for the seller. Most of the books I have received have actually included a personal thank you note asking me to give them feedback on the site.
OTHER ITEMS:
Half.com also sells video games, music CDs, movies, DVDs, computers, electronics and trading cards. I haven't used these parts of their business yet but do have a video on my wish list at the moment. I just enjoy reading books more than watching videos. :)
SELLING:
I have a hard time parting with my books and have a teenage daughter that loves to read as much as I do, so we usually just keep the books and loan them out to friends. I keep saying one of these days I am going to sort through my books and sell some of them. Guess I'll have to update my review if that ever happens.
