Memory card or it's own game?

Written: Sep 12 '01 (Updated Sep 12 '01)
Pros:wide variety of colors, the cool mini screen
Cons:weak battery
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend the vmu because of all the memory space and because of it's cool colors.

When the sega dreamcast was released, it released the vmu (visual memory unit) along with it. The vmu is a memory card with a capacity of 200 blocks, and of course a screen. This was something new and different to the gaming world, something new and creative. The gaming world has never seen, a memory card with a built in screen? It was kinda interesting to me at first, because i had never seen it before. Well any ways let's stop wasting time and let's get down to the review.

The vmu is a unique memory card. The screen on the vmu is there for a purpose. The screen is there for many reasons, it's there for secret play calling on games like NFL2k/NFL2k1 etc. It is there for if u want to delete games when ur away from your dreamcast unit you can, It is there if you wanna copy a friends file from his vmu all you have to do is take your vmu and take his vmu and connect them together and waa laa! The files from his vmu transfered to your vmu.

Remember those giga pets, tomagotchi (i think that's how you spell it), and those nano baby's, well of course u do. Well guess what? Now u can play that on your vmu. With games like Sonic Adventure, you can download a chao off of the game and take care of it on the vmu. The vmu has a wide variety of colors. They have red, blue, grey, white, yellow, green, and plenty others. Another thing about the vmu is it's week battery. I personally have two vmu's and both of the battery's are dead. They after about 10 months due to eccesive use. The vmu is a great dreamcast product.
