Pros: Truck bed for hauling. Strong engine.
Cons: Wide turning radius. Poor gas mileage. Road noise from tire cupping is unbearable.
The Bottom Line: If you insist on a Sport Trac, keep a close eye on the tires and get rid of them right when the cupping starts...while they're still under warranty.

Great looking vehicle. Perfect if you need a small truck bed. Unfortunately, the truck has a horrible turning radius and gets poor gas mileage. Also, at under 10,000 miles the front tires started cupping. I rotate regularly so I was at least able to get 58,000 out of the stock Wrangler RTS tires, but the road noise is unbearable. Fords is clueless as to the cause...at least they're not admitting anything. I am very disappointed with the vehicle and would not recommend it. This is my 3rd Ford Explorer and my 5th Ford product and most likely my last. I feel betrayed. If Ford would have at least admitted fault, I would consider another Ford.
A tire salesman told me Ford trucks are prone to cupping when the tread wall is open and suggested buying tires with closed tread walls. Others suggested installing heavier duty shocks/struts. Bottomline, Ford should have stepped up and done something about this instead of suggesting that the cupping problem was my fault because I failed to rotate my tires regularly. Quite on the contrary..I got 58,000 miles on this set of tires because I rotated the tires religiously. I check inflation regularly too, yet Ford reps still tried to place blame on my and not a manufacturer's flaw.
