Superhero movies are great, but when they're as stupid as the "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer," it makes you understand why there are villains who hate them.
Further hindering the film is Victor Doom who doesn't even come across as interesting - and moments of crazy antics does not make a villain. But there are plenty of other bad guys to keep track of, such as the planet-eating Galactus that's more of a cloud than a person, and the CGI silver surfer.
However, none of these insipid characters compare to the dysfunctional four freaks known as the "Fantastic Four." Devoid of character development and failing at every attempt at humor, the four fools try to entertain with dumb action sequences.
The movie throws in some party and celebration scenes to kill time and waste your precious time in the process. And when they're not dancing, they're arguing endlessly like a bunch of wild chimpanzees. The four don't work cohesively, and they don't even manage to save the world. The savior was the silver surfer!
When the CGI silver surfer has more character and depth than the Fantastic Four, it's a clear sign that this superhero movie is a dud. This film made the badly done Spiderman 3 look like an epic masterpiece!
