The Bottom Line It probably has what you want at a decent rate and will help TheHungerSite.com, but don't try to get gifts.

New Note: I am not going to change the content of the review, so you know how I stood when I first signed up for this service, but now my opinion has changed and I want you to know why. I discovered that my seventy-something dollar order did not go to thehungarsite.com because for some reason, when I clicked through to Value Mags from that site, it did not stay connected. There was no bar at the top of the page proving it was still connected and insuring that my money would go to support those in need. My other problem is all the hassel with getting the addresses corrected. It took me 3 tries to get one fixed, and the others I tried a couple times and gave up on because all I was trying to do was change the name (they were for my parents who live with me.) I won't go back, but if you can successfully reach this site and keep connected to thehungarsite I won't discourage it. Otherwise, I'd say there are probably better magazine companies out there. Thanks for reading my update, and please read below to see how it went at first.
So I was clicking at Thehungersite.com which is a great site where you can truly click to donate food to those in need. What they do is get businesses to support the site and offer to donate food, so each time you click, food is donated! The catch is you can only click once a day. The same goes for TheBreastCancerSite.com, each click goes towards giving an underprivileged woman a mammogram. One of the noble businesses that supports these site is Valuemags.com. Another great thing that they claimed was that a certain percentage of what you spend at Valuemags goes towards giving a mammogram if you go through the Breast Cancer sight, and each dollar you spend donates one cup of food at the Hunger Site! THE IMPORTANT CATCH: You must go to Valuemags.com THROUGH either the Breast Cancer Site or the Hunger Site. The way you would do that is to go to either page and click on the link on the left side of the page that says "Shop & Help." Then you click on "Books, Mags, Music, & Movies" and scroll down to Valuemags.com on the page you come to. Now you have successfully linked yourself in a matter that will help others in need. Now on to the web page info! :)
Since I like magazines I decided to go check it out. They had all their magazines arranged in categories, and it was pretty easy to navigate. I have seen some very weak magazine lists a lot of places, and this was actually a fair selection. It didn't have everything, but it had the ones I was looking for. I get Cinescape, and it's generally on the medium and high quality lists, but the short lists hardly ever have it. If that helps. I ended up finding several magazines I wanted for myself and family members. Besides, what better holiday gift (the holidays ARE creeping up on us) than something that you keep getting! I have some people on my list that i NEVER know what to get them, and even if a subscription is generally $15-$30, give or take, I thought it would definitely be worth it if it was actually something they would like! So I picked out my magazines, and went through the usual routine of signing up with the site and giving them my stats and credit info on a secure line. I was looking for a place to enter the addresses of the other people magazines were going to, but when I thought I was confirming which mags I wanted, I discovered I had just confirmed my order, and it was all done!!!!
I looked all over the site but couldn't find any place to change any address other than my own official address. So I found an email address to write to the company. This is what I said:
Hi, I jut ordered 4 magazines and was expecting to be able to enter separate shipping addresses for each, but there was no option to do that and I ended up accidentally ordering them to all be shipped to myself! How can I enter separate addresses for each of them?? Please help!
So I went about my business, and six days later got the reply below. Note that even though six days may be a bit of a wait, magazines are hardly being sent to you Priority Jet! You're gonna wait 4-6 weeks anyways! I've been to sites that didn't reply for a week or two if at all! So I was happy to get a reply fairly quickly, and from an actual person, rather than an automatic email response. Here's what I was sent:
Hello, this is an understandable mistake. What we can do to help is contact each of the vendors for you to get those addresses straightened out. If you could e-mail me a list of each magazine and where you want it sent, that would help. Also I need your first and last name if it was all billed to you. Thank you.
So I sent her the information she asked for, and although I sent that today, I'm assuming it will all be ok. I'll make sure to let you know if it's not, or even if it works out well.
I would generally not have recommended this site because of the fact that I can't imagine a site selling magazines that doesn't expect a person to buy magazines as gifts! However the fact that proceeds go to The Hunger Site or The Breast Cancer Site makes it so that I must recommend it. I hope you will at least check it out, but be aware of some of the problems I've had.
I'll elaborate on my ratings below:
I selected "4" on Delivery time because I'm gonna hope they arrive on time, but I'll let you know!
I said product information was poor because I tried to get info on a magazine and it had a short one sentence blurb that really didn't give me a good idea about the magazine. KNOW WHAT YOU'RE BUYING, you can't really shop around here very well if you don't know the mags.
I selected 2 on order tracking because I got a receipt, but I don't see how you can have order tracking on magazines. I don't think it's a fair question for this site, but since that category relates specifically to tracking, I can't say it's "good" because there isn't any! It's just not applicable.
Shipping and handling also wasn't applicable! I said good because there weren't any extra shipping fees, but what else was I gonna put??
So that's it, I hope I've helped, good luck, and I hope you and yours are safe.
