AMERICAN LEGACY - THE STORY OF JOHN AND CAROLINE KENNEDY

Written: Dec 30 '08 (Updated Dec 30 '08)
Pros:History of a remarkable woman; how she to protected her children from the public.
Cons:Too much very personal information that should be kept personal.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend reading this book for historical content. Shows what a family in the public eye must endure.

I went into Boarder's Book Store and my eyes caught this book. As I have always been intrigued with the Kennedy family; especially John and Caroline.

I found out many wonderful things about this very public family and also read some interesting items that I wish I hadn't read. I think people in the public eye shouldn't have to give up their personal lives. This is definitely what happened to the Kennedy children, and probably contributed to much alcohol and drug abuse among examples for the children and the children.

Jackie did a remarkable job at raising her children under the spotlight and trying to keep them out of the spotlight. She was a tough lady; and lived for her children.

It is very good reading. This 2" book is the first book in a long time that I started reading and didn't want to put down. It took me 2 days to read it; I had to stop to go to work.

Like I said, I feel there are personal parts in the book that should have been kept personal. All is exposed. I don't know the reliability of the book, so I have kept an open mind.

I recommend this book for history and some entertainment.
