I bought a 2004 Dodge Neon SXT for my first car. When I was at the dealership I saw this bright yellow car and I knew it was going to be mine. It has a moon roof, it is very roomy and overall it just looked nice. Since I was already impressed by the car I decided to take it for a test drive. That test drive sealed the deal for me it ran smooth and it had a decent sound system. I knew that this car was the one for me. Everything about it was great.
I had only had this car for about a month before it broke down. I was driving it one day and radiator fluid just started pouring out of the car. The car was great up until that point because the way that it happened was so random. We tried to fix the car and we found that the bolt to the radiator was stripped, and we thought that it possibly could be due to the lack of inspection from the company. I should have known this car wasnt the best choice for me because a few people I know have owned a car of the similar brand as mine and had similar engine problems with theirs. One of them had their transmission drop, and the other had to get a new front end. I had a feeling in the back of my head before I bought the car that it could end up being a pain. Besides the small radiator problem I faced there are only a couple of drawbacks to my car. The windows in the front are automatic, but the ones in the back are manual. Theres also only one key hole on the car, and thats on the drivers side door.
Even though I have had these problems with my car, I think its truly been worth the cost. Now that Ive been able to get the car repaired I couldnt be anymore happy and satisfied with it. It runs great, even better than it did in the beginning. Like all cars theres always something about it that needs work or improvement, it needs to have the key holes in the other doors of the car besides just the drivers side. The windows should all be automatic instead of just the front.
I would recommend this car to other people, especially to a college student. It has excellent gas mileage, so for anyone that plans on commuting to and from school, you wouldnt have to spend a lot of extra money on gas. The car is also small so if you need to fit inside a tight parking spot, then you will be able to do so. Trust me I know what that is like, for example one afternoon I was running late to class and there was only one spot left and the cars beside it were both conveniently parked over the white lines. So I was able to squeeze my car between them with ease. So basically overall this is a great car, but once again as with any automotive vehicle it can be expected to have its flaws.
